Work order processing SAP Interface with

Syncops

Background of the client:

Client is a UK based Airliner with Commercial passenger Airline businesses around the
world. SAP is their primary Enterprise resource planning system. Recently the client
procured SYNCOPS from MAXIML Labs, India to manage their Airline maintenance
operations.

Business Scenario:
Client wants to integrate the Work order processing Module of Syncops with SAP in
realtime. The work order processing Module in Syncops consists of creation of
workorder. And displaying the work order progress.

Business Assumption:

Any workorder created with Syncops should reflect in SAP ECC system when the User
checks with SAP System. The Client SAP system has the SAP Plant Maintenance Module
installed. The application server/ datastore for SYNCOPS is different from SAP.

Technical Assumption:

It is widely assumed that the data store(databases) for Syncops and SAP are different.

Our Solution

Since the client wants realtime access to data with Syncops on the SAP system we
suggest them using an REST service from SAP and POST the data from Syncops to SAP.

SAP has standard BAPIs(Modules) which can connect via the RFC protocol with
the SAP gateway System,
SAP Gateway uses the ODATA services to convert data from SAP to JSON/XML
and it is the seamless way of connecting SAP ECC to other systems
This will enable the SAP business users of the Client to consume the SYNCOPS
workorder data in SAP.

Clients SAP requirements

Clients SAP ECC version should have the following BASIS components installed
GW_CORE,
IW_FND
IW_BEP
for basis release before 7.31

SAP_GWFND
for basis release after 7.31
MODE OF DELIVERY FOR SYNCOPS TEAM

As per our discussion I have inferred that the interfacing with SAP systems could be
provided as an additional service to the Customer while installing and configuring the
SYNCOPS software at the Customer premises. So an SAP consultant would be required
to understand the business processes of both SYNCOPS and SAP in order to integrate
both the software seamlessly.
This could be done for all the customers the SYNCOPS team comes into contact with
where the Customers existing ERP server is SAP.

So Maximl doesnt have to procure any SAP software of its own.
