Competency A Professionalism and Understanding:

You continue to demonstrate very satisfactory professionalism. Your

classroom environment and rapport with the learners continues to be very
satisfactory. I continue to be encouraged by the seamless support the MST
offers in providing scaffolding during the group activities. You are advised to
capitalize on nurturing this collaborative practice as it should serve you well
for the rest of your internship.

Category B Planning for Learning:

A lesson plan was provided before the lesson. The learning outcomes could
use some fine-tuning to clarify the meaning - very interesting that you have
assigned each item to a specific language skill. The accompanying teaching
aids also demonstrated careful planning for this lesson.

Category C Implementing and Managing Learning:

The lessons began very promptly with the teacher presenting the lesson
objectives on the board followed by a quick review of the previous lesson.
Then the learners were directed to p. 85 in the learners' book. This was go
followed up by an audio playback with a story about a little ant - the playback
was clearly and very. Then there was a quick class discussion reviewing the
story. Very good idea going over the story again with Q & A - your read Aloud
was very good. The learners were then directed to p. 87 and engaged in a
finding the solution to the tasks on that page. Good job actively engaging the
learners in the discussion of the first task on p. 87. The activity to spot the
verbs in the story began very well with the teacher led class discussion on
the first and part of the second - the learners were simply fantastic as they
provided the correct answers at least 99% of the time. Finally, the learners
were led in a quick discussion of the group responses. The review of the last

activity was interrupted - to be continued.

Category D Monitoring and Assessment of Learning:

You continue to use Q & A very efficiently to elicit desired responses. You also
continue to do very well providing scaffolding to learners during activities.

Category E Reflection:

You were spot on about the need to go to a Plan B after running out activities
on the plan. Your critical appraisal about the need for extension of actives to
fill in the "extra".

Strengths of the Lesson:

The main strengths of this lesson were: learner engagement, pacing of

activities, and great rapport with the learners.

Areas for Development:

Continue striving to provide the best model of the correct use of the target
language. In particular focus on the correct framing of questions For
example: "What is the story is talking about?"; "What the small insect did?;
"What's the meaning of beetle?"; "What does flea did?"
Focus for next lesson:

Continue working on providing as much practice for the learners to

manipulate the target language as possible. For example, allow for more oral
production of the target structures.
