RE: Letter for Recommendation for Julie Kaspari

Julie Kaspari has asked me to write her a letter of recommendation; I am very pleased to do so. I have
known Julie as a student teacher for me at Buena Vista High School and McGinnis Middle School in
Buena Vista, Colorado. Julie spent 8 weeks student teaching for my high school and middle schools art
classes.

Julie is a very dedicated teacher and very dedicated to the students by bringing knowledge and
experience to the classroom; she is dependable and enthusiastic; she strives for perfection in all areas
of fine arts subjects; she displays this by going beyond what is expected of her. In addition, she
displays a lot of maturity and responsibility; she puts in extra time with the materials so that she is
very familiar with processes and produces creative, high quality outcomes in her classes. Julies
lessons are thorough, many touching on art history, culture and cross-curricular subjects; she uses
many types of critique techniques and used collaboration on multiple occasions. She shows integrity
for craftsmanship, values experiential learning and holds students to a high standard of knowledge and
technique.

Julie shows a balance of determination, intelligence, creativity, and compassion. During her student
teaching Julie has developed lesson plans, revised lessons, taken on the role of classroom
management and discipline as she sees fit; she has support from the middle school and high school
principals and co-workers. The opportunity to be at a school with 6-12 on one campus has been
beneficial to her student teaching and an invaluable opportunity to see and compare the needs of
different ages of students.

The first 2 weeks of Julies student teaching, we did some co-teaching of all classes. When she felt
more comfortable and knew her way around the classroom, she became the teacher and I took on the
supporting role. Julie is easy to collaborate with, communicates well and takes feedback; it was easy
for us to share roles, take on different responsibilities with her due to her conveying clear ideas, and
needs.

I have seen Julie interact with the high school and middle school students , she shows integrity,
empathy and leadership as a role model for them; her fun spirit, enthusiasm, sharing personal
interests and passion and a positive personality are all strong qualities Julie has that attribute to her
successes.

Julie Kaspari has my complete support in all her endeavors. Whatever the task, she will find a very
creative and successful way of handling it. Without any reservation and with enthusiasm I recommend
