Description of how to implement in the class:
The class will start a new unit on Americas involvement in World War II. The teacher will assess prior
knowledge and have a class discussion on what the students know already. The teacher will then describe
timeline and how it is a great tool to use to help learn about major events and the order they happened. On a
different topic, the teacher will demonstrate how to use timeline and what they are required to include on
theirs.
In this lesson, students will get with a partner to create a timeline on what they have learned
about Americas involvement in World War II. Rather than using actual dates, students will be asked
to just include the drama of the events. They are allowed to include dates if they feel it is
necessary. Students will provide main events and key figures within the timeline, who or what they
were and the causes and effects of the events. Students will also be required to include at least
fifteen total ideas and people, and provide at least seven photos within those points.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi):
This activity is a LoTi level 4 because the students are creating a product that is important, interesting
and meaningful to them. This learning experience is also student-centered but not technology rich.
Description of the sample BBPT file provided *:
The sample Timeline provided is one based on the same standard, Americas involvement in World War II.
This can be briefly shown to the students before they create their own product, as an example of what is
expected and what the rubric will be based off of.
