To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to submit this letter of recommendation for Ms Ashlyn Cummings as she seeks
employment as a special education teacher. I have supervised Ms Cummings for the past
several months as she completes her student teaching at Reagan Elementary. As I have
worked with Ashlyn, I have witnessed her enthusiasm and joy for her students and for the
teaching profession. She is dedicated to the lifelong pursuit of becoming the best teacher for
her students and works tirelessly to study, research, and implement the best practices
necessary to meet her students educational, behavioral and emotional needs.
I have observed Ashlyn several times in the classroom, both in small group direct instruction,
and as an inclusion teacher, supporting in the general education classroom. In both settings,
she is knowledgeable, highly participative, and engaging. Her students respect and care for her
and want to please her, so they work very hard to accomplish the goals she sets for them. She
knows her students IEP information and maintains a flexible learning environment to adjust
lessons accurately for their needs. I have been impressed with her skills and knowledge each
time I have observed her. She as also taken feedback and acted upon it each time we have
met to discuss the observation, asking relevant questions and incorporating new ideas
effectively.

I have also met with her in learning meetings on several occasions, discussing several topics
such as special education processes and procedures, lesson design, teacher evaluation,
behavioral plan implementations, parent interactions and new best practices. She has
participated with enthusiasm and is eager to learn.

It has been my privilege and pleasure to supervise this fine young educator and I recommend
