1.

The historically data shows that there have been a lot of

transition in teachers. I believe that is why the students have
shown a decrease in academic status.
2. I will say it is the same as number 1. Having inexperienced
teachers (content knowledge and classroom management) and
no teacher assistants with a large student population will not
have positive outcomes.
3. We are providing daily intervention and small group instruction.
We have weekly PLCs to discuss the students data and devise a
plan of action. Periodically, we take temperature checks to
adjust our instruction and delivery.
4. Progress monitoring should be done during small group
instruction and any down time during the day with students after
a desired length of time (for instance 10 days). Then instruction
should be adjusted for either more intense intervention or
enrichment for the students.
5. We only have 2 TAs and they are very well versed in guided
reading groups.
6. By doing formative assessments daily and through varies
formats. Spiral reviews are also helpful.
7. Schoolnet, teacher made tests, StudyIsland and ReadWorks.org
assessments are also used. I think a variety of assessments will
give the teacher a better picture of understanding where the
child is academically.
8. The teachers have the TRC question stems. The are encouraged
to use them to create questions for the text the students are
reading, so that the students will be familiar with the questions.
The teachers should be implementing the strategy of RACE (R-
Restate the Question, A- Answer the Question, C-Cite the
Evidence, E-Expand your answer).
9. I will say that Im a seven. I have been very successful in
growing my students abilities academically.
10. I use different strategies, but most importantly, I made the
students read, reread, and show their work by highlighting or
underlining the information. They must work on their own so
that I can assessed and plan accordingly.
11. We have constantly tried to revamp the classroom
structure to make it more stable for instruction. We have re-
adjusted the master schedule to reflect more human resources in
the 1st grade by giving them TAs for 1 hour. We also have tutors
coming in from the high school that are in the early childhood
class. The instructional coach and the district level mentor
pushes into the classrooms daily and weekly. We are constantly
looking for resources and implementing best practices in our
daily instruction.
12. The Kindergarten department does a fair great job on
having the students prepared for the first grade. I think that the
teachers can do more collaboration on center activities and
strategies so that the students are able to transition into first
grade seamlessly.
13. Yes, I have already elaborated on the fact that the question
stems are been used and should be used daily along with the
reading text.
14. I think by just exposing the students to higher level
through the teacher read alouds and then by using some think
alouds. Thats how you would be able to expose the students
and then maybe giving them a few questions to monitor their
understanding and thinking process.
15. By making the real-life lessons, or at least reading about
real-life situations, the students will then have a discussion on
what did the character learn from the situation and then
hopefully apply it to themselves.
16. Yes, I am looking at the data and reflecting on my
students, my instruction and delivery, and how I am assessing
my students. Data can be interpreted and evaluated for more
usage and desired outcomes.
