BG Ingnierie

FOREWORDS FROM THE DIRECTORS: Nicolas & Jol BESNIER

BG INGENIERIE is a family run company. Our parents started in 1999 with the aim to be active on
smart card market for small card production and small equipment (production, test). The result is what
BG INGENIERIE is today: a worldwide leading supplier in particular in test equipment for cards and passports.

Through the years, BG INGENIERIE got recognition from the card and passport actors to become a leader in
equipment development, following norms (cards, passports) or following specific customer requirements
(laboratory card production, specific vision inspection, inlay modification, RFID robot tester, and many more).

Getting the name BG INGENIERIE known worldwide was a real challenge but we achieved it in particular
thanks to our customers and partners.

We thank you all for your trust in our products, for your trust in our developments, and as we always say:
Future is linked with our customers and their new requirements.... yours.

Warmest regards

Jol BESNIER Nicolas BESNIER

Competence
BGI CARDS

The first activity and core business of BG INGENIERIE has been supplying smart cards in different
fields: loyalty, membership, logical access cards, prototypes (contact, bi-techno cards) and small
runs for the big card players, not equipped with small series card manufacturing equipment.

BGI EQUIPMENT

Card manufacturing: To meet the increasing demands of those small series in production as in
lab prototypes, BG INGENIERIE develops and sells small production line, with manual feeding
based on the 3 main card production steps: card milling, chip punching and chip implanting.

Card testing: With the success met for this new market products, BG INGENIERIE carries on development
increasing throughput of those small desktop production devices, and jumped into the durability
card testing world for CQM, ANSI, ISO10373, ISO24789, EMV norms (bending, torsion, 3 wheels...).

E-passport testing: In 2006, with the release of e-passports, BG INGENIERIE

develops a set of durability testing equipment to answer ICAO specifications.

Specific development: In 2008, BG INGENIERIE launches a new activity based on specific customer
equipment developments around cards, inlays, e-passports, readers and e-ID documents.

2010: BG INGENIERIE moves to a new building.

2011: BG INGENIERIE joins ICMA association and launches its first automatic
chip implanting and card milling equipment.

2013: Building extension due to a great increase of the

equipment activity.
BG INGENIERIE is proud to receive the national French
Stars & Mtiers: Prix de lInnovation Technologique. It
is a great recognition of the quality and involvment of
the company in R&D and tailor made development.

Card manufacturing equipment

Our expertise

In 1999, BG INGENIERIE entered the card market supplying chip implanting services for small volumes of
cards (from 1 card to 10k cards), and based on reactivity and quick deliveries. In order to realise those
sometimes very specific productions, we developed a series of manual desktop equipment, fitting the
world of small and medium series: simple and compact devices (chip punching, card milling and chip
implanting).

A first production line with throughput of 200 cards per hour was revealed during Cartes 2003 exhibition.

Some 10 years later, BG INGENIERIE has upgraded several times the throughput of the equipment, and now
offers solutions producing 1 million, 2 million cards per year and more...

Our specialty remains desktop elements but the combination of several small equipment allows you to
easily increase production capacity to 1000, 1500 cards per hour, keeping flexibility of production.

One of the best example: our production lab is today equipped with 2 chip punching machines, 1 SIM-GSM
punching machine, 2 milling machines and 2 chip implanting machines, giving us a capacity production of
more than 2 million cards per year.

In 2011, BG INGENIERIE launches its first automatic equipment: chip implanting equipment and card milling
equipment, with a throughput of 1500 units/h.

BG INGENIERIE proposes other manufacturing equipment such as GSM-SIM punch, chip on reel programming
and card programming machines, hotmelt tape laminator...

Card testing equipment

Our expertise

Card testing is an important part of card manufacturing. Quality, which has always been an issue for card
suppliers and demands for governments, institutions and card issuers, is getting stronger and stronger.

BG INGENIERIE has developed a serie of mechanical card testing devices to answer the increasing needs in
quality: CQM, MasterCard recommendations, ANSI 322, ISO7816, ISO10373, ISO24789, etc... paper norms
dedicated to card quality. It is sometimes not easy to figure out which test has to be applied to each type of
cards.

BG INGENIERIE already works with the biggest players in card industry and is here to fulfill customer demands
and supply testing devices for these norms, or for specific requirements.

E-passport testing equipment

Our expertise

Passport industry has gone into RFID now. Latest passport released are called e-Passport, being equipped
with storage contactless chips.
Quality of the finished booklets but also of the different components of the e-Passport, is a major target for
worldwide suppliers.

BG INGENIERIE has released a set of small and easy to use testing equipment in order to validate production
of inlays, passport covers, papers, etc... following ICAO norm.

BG INGENIERIE also proposes different tests to answer the Norm written in ICAO V3.2 paper.

Another set of e-passport testing equipment, but not from the ICAO paper, has been developed following
manufacturer particular demands, in order to realise tests stronger than the ICAO paper norm.
