Dear Fifth Grade Parents/Guardians:

On Wednesday May 17th, 5:15 p.m. - 7:45 p.m., we will be hosting our Spring Walk Through and Caines
Arcade fundraiser. The event promises to be a fun and exciting time.

We will also have an art exhibit in the old wing cafeteria, where students creative masterpieces will be
shown. This year our students have tried their hand at working in the style of artists such as Georgia
OKeefe, and Gustav Klimt. They have studied elements of design such as line, color, shape, space,
texture, form and value. Their artwork is sure to impress you.

At 5:40 p.m. the Caines Arcade 5th grade fundraiser will be open in both gymnasiums. Families can
purchase tickets to play the amazing arcade games built by our 5th graders. Tickets will be sold at a cost
of 7 for $5 or 16 for $10. The funds raised from Caines Arcade will be used to support arts in our
school, and a portion of the proceeds will go either to an organization supporting cancer research or
supporting Veterans issues. Our student council will make the final determination as to which
organization will receive proceeds raised.

As a fifth grade parent we ask that you join your children as they manage the different games they
created while other students play. I hope you will come out on May 17th to help the P.S. 153 community
celebrate the fantastic work being done here on a daily basis.
