Quote for pondering: Invisible things can be critical. You cannot see oxygen, but
its invisible presence allows you to live. You cant see it,
Beware of manufacturing a God of your own: a God who but its of primary significance. In the same way, the most
is all mercy, but not just; a God who is all love, but not holy; significant battles of the Christian life are invisible: the
a God who as a heaven for every body, but a hell for none; battles in your mind. You cannot see them, but they are
a God who can allow good and bad to be side by side in of primary significance. Before your actions ever commit
time, but will make no distinction between good and broad sin or righteousness, your mind has led the way. This is
in eternity. Such a God is an idol of your own, as truly an why the Bible is so concerned with the thought-life of
idol as any snake or crocodile in an Egyptian temple. The every believer. Colossians 3 commands, set your mind
hands of your own fancy and sentimentality have made on things above. When Jesus taught, he taught not only
him. He is not the God of the Bible, and beside the God of to the actions, but to the heart and the mind. This is why
the Bible there is no God at all. Romans 12:2 is concerned with the renewing of our
J.C. Ryle mind. Be thoughtful then, of your thoughts. Pay attention
to what has your attention. Stop often to think about what
you are thinking about. And fill your mind with scriptire, so
that it will have many easy paths upon which to walk in the
things above.
