SENIOR PROJECT SELF-EVALUATION

Directions: Utilize this worksheet to help evaluate yourself and your project. Be as complete
and descriptive as possible. This self-evaluation should give the scoring team a clear picture of
what you accomplished in your project.

Name - Abigail Leadenham Project Start Date January 27 2017

Title of Project - Canned Food Drive Project Completion Date - April 26 2017

1. In 40 words or more describe who your project benefited and how. In other words, what was the impact
of your project? My project benefited veterans, more specifically homeless veterans. The canned food
drive was to help feed them, to give them food. Canned food also lasts a long time and can feed a lot. I
wanted to give back to them and help them cause in some way they helped me.
2. In at least 40 words explain how the project challenged you. How was this a stretch for you? This project
challenged me because I was forced to change projects last minute. My first project I wanted to do was
harder because the lady I was talking to about having the project at her farmers market was hard to get in
contact with. Time was running out and she hadn't responded to me and I had people back out of giving
me artwork and at the last minute I was able to change to the food drive.
3. List and then describe 5-8 fundamental ideas/concepts/skills of your project, which you
learned/enhanced during your project. Please use a table format as shown in the example below.
Concept of time management- getting its done when it's supposed to be done
Failure- when my first project got cancelled
Event planning- I learned how to plan an event
Advertisment- I had to make flyers and get the word out
Social skills- I had to learn how to communicate with others better

4. List and describe 4-8 problems/obstacles/issues you encountered in your project, and briefly describe how
you solved each.
Project cancellation-Had to quickly think of another project
Confirming cans-Had to confirm who was bringing cans
Finding somewhere to donate the cans-Most vet houses are not local so it was hard to find one locally
Venue-When I came up with my new project it was hard to find a venue

5. List materials used.

Poster board
Colored paper
Boxes
Paint
Glue
Scissors

6. List all people who helped you on the project and briefly describe the help given.
Terri-supplied most of the materials
Dave-supplied most of the materials and let me use his office for a venue
Tracie-Helped advertise my project

7. How does your completed project compare to the picture you had in mind when you started the project?
Explain the reason behind any changes from your proposal.
My original idea for my project did not go as planned. This isn't what I planned it to be but it's still as
good. I had to change plans because my original idea was harder than I thought and my venue contact was
hard to contact. She had told me I could have my project at her farmers market but she backed out without
telling me so I had to change plans and people were backing out on giving me artwork which was what I
needed the most.

8. If given the opportunity, explain what you would have done differently now that you speak from
experience? I would have made sure I had back up venues and been more strict on getting the paintings
and not allowing slack. I would have focused better and spent more time on it.
9. Beyond the project itself, what did you learn about yourself? I learned that I don't like failure(project
change) but I learned to grow from it. I realized not everything will always go your way so you have to
make the best out of what you have and if you care enough about what you're doing then you can get it
done.

10. What grade would you give yourself on the project? Justify the evaluation of your grade in at least 25
words.

Grade: 85

Justification: I would give myself an 85 because I do believe I completed the task and this topic is
something I really care about and I'm glad my project help feed homeless veterans.
