Federal judge orders Ga. to reopen voter registration ahead of
runof A federal judge on Thursday ordered Georgia to temporarily reopen voter registration ahead of a hotly contested congressional runoff in the 6th District. U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten made the ruling as part of a broader lawsuit by a Washington-based advocacy group, which last month accused Georgia of violating federal law by reducing the amount of time residents have to register to vote. Illinois elections board ofers more info on hacking incident
The State Board of Elections says hackers gained access to the information of 80-thousand Illinois voters including their social security numbers and drivers licenses. Elections officials say hackers had access to Illinois system for nearly three weeks before they were detected. They did get access to personal information, but officials say thats about it.
