Example One-

The Song of the Sea Mariner

By: Soon Hee Newbold

Sisters
As the light breeze weaved through the long green grass, the two sisters cracked the
fallen leaves with their feet from the big tall tree. Carleigh the oldest was sitting under the
tree waiting for her sister, Haley to come meet her. The two were more like best friends
than sisters. They did did every little thing they could do together. As the two sisters sat
together gazing up at the tree, a feeling came upon Carleigh. They always had climbed
the tree before but they never went high enough to look over the town. As their eyes saw
nothing like they could ever imagine. The bright orange and faded pink covered the
town. Carleigh was so fascinated by it she kept going, higher and higher she went. She
grabbed on to to a branch and it snapped and down she fell. As she hit the ground Haley
hectically came down to get her. When she reached her, her eyes were closed and her
body was completely still. As tears ran down Haleys face she started to remember. She
started to remember all the memories her and her sister had together, happy and sad.
As Carleighs eyes slowly opened enough for her to see her sister holding her she said
We will see eachother again. as her eyes gently closed again. Haley smiled and
grabbed her sister close and tight.

Justification: This music fits my story because it has different moods. It starts off as a
happy song, and the two sisters were happy. The music then got lower and curious when
the sisters were curious about how high they could go up the tree. Then the music goes
happy again as they see the view. Then the music started going up higher in pitch more
dramatic and sad when she fell off the tree, then back to the beginning but more of a soft
happy tone remembering happy memories they had together. Then it got slow but the
piano made it happy as the sister knew they would see eachother again and then slowly
dies off. I also did this because my sister Carleigh left for college, and we were very
close, and I dont get to see her very often. To me I never get to see her, so sometimes I
feel like she is not even hear with me.

Example Two-

Song: Dragonland By Thomas Bergenson

Tone: Heroic, Serious.

Mood: Mysterious.
My song and story went well together because the song goes with the beginning.
Throughout the song the story keeps up. They good together with the setting.
On a nice summers day in Japan the blossoms from the cherry trees fall on the
sidewalk below, a boy named Billy was walking on the sidewalk. Billy was 16 years old,
had 4 sisters and a dog named Clif. Clif was his only friend sadly but he was alright with
that. His 4 older sisters Bianca, Juju, Sally, and Patricia always made fun of him for it.
The one person in his family who really didnt care was Clif that's because he loves
getting attention from people. This 16 year old was walking down the long sidewalk and
heard a faint but loud yelp. Billy looked around and whispered to himself,Its prolly just a
bird. He kept hearing it again and again. These dang birds wont shut up. He yelled.
Then after he stopped screaming at the birds it got silent then he heard the word help
and some words after that. Billy couldnt quite get what that person was saying but the
person sounded very hurt and scared. Suddenly he immediately thought hed run home
real quick grab his great-great-grandfather's sword that was hung up in a cabinet. Once
he had gotten back to the spot that he heard the screaming come from, he looked up
and around and even down for where the screaming was coming from. Billy could feel
that it was coming from the left. He gripped his sword so tight that he could feel the
blood rushing in his hand. His heart was pounding faster than ever. Billy really wanted to
figure out where it was coming from he came a across a pond with some foot prints
around it and saw that they kept going. He thought hed just keep following them he gets
somewhere. Then he came across a tunnel into the ground, Sick I found it. Billy
muttered to himself. As he entered the tunnel, a gust of wind blew his long hair back it
made him think if he should actually do this. Still he went on and had his sword what
seemed was glued to his hand. The boy entered a cave like thing and saw that there
was a sword held up his emperor Akihito, Billy tried to scream no but since he was so
scared no one heard a thing. So then he stood up straight and demanded them to drop
their swords. Man he felt like a hero. Then he grabbed Akihito and left. The next the 16
Year old boy went to school and told everyone about the story no one believed him but
only him and Akihito knew the whole story.

Section 8
\\Story:
Spin

At 1 it always happens, she walks down the hallway getting laughed at,
trying hard not to cry. Making her way to her last class, she looks for a
clear way. Squeezing her way through the crowds, that suffocate
anything that tries to get past, she finally gets to class before the bell
rings. She sits in the back of the class, like always, pulling out her
notebook and a pencil. She writes down the question on the board and
answers it. She looks up as people start to flood the classroom. She
gives a shy smile as the teacher starts to talk. The kids in the class
start to talk and the teacher stops, gives the class that look. A paper is
thrown at her head and she picks it up. Kids laugh as she reads things
that she doesn't want to hear. She struggles not to cry again, believing
the things that the note said. She wants to stand up for herself but she
couldn't. She thinks shes too weak. Once the bell rings she shoots up
out of her chair and runs to her locker trying not get seen by them.
Out of the corner of her eye she sees them walking towards her. She
freezes in fear, scared just like everyday. They come from behind like
the first wind before a tornado. She can't breath, the air trapped in her
lungs, trying to run but she can't. They comment on her outfit and
make jokes about her. They say she's worthless and useless. She
started to believe them once again. Once they break her down, like
everyday, one single tear slides down her hollow cheek. She wants to
run but she can't do anything but look down as more tears stream
down her face. By now more people have gathered around her and
started laughing and pointing at her. She's had enough. Wanting to
leave, she pushes through finally able to speak again, realizing that no
one can hear her. People kept laughing and pointing at her and she
ran, she cried more and more and walks out of the school. She starts to
sob. Hot tear hit the ground below her. Not knowing where to go she
runs and runs and runs. She has nowhere to go, nowhere to hide. She
is all alone.

Justification- My story matches the song because of how sad it makes you and how the
song and story makes you feel inside. They complement each other because of how well
they make you feel the same way.
