Lesson Plan

5. Standard: READING COMPREHENSION LITERATURE It is expected that

6. Objective: Students will work in groups of (4) and draw, at random, between
5 different topics for a fictional story. Each group must include a definition of
the literature word and create a story using the type of literature. Each story
must have a beginning, middle, and end. Must be at least a half of page. Each
child will have the same beginning and middle, and a different ending. Each
group member will have to change the ending of their story. Once the story is
complete each group member much create a part of their story and bring it
to life using a varies of crafts, at the craft table. Then present to the whole
class on their story with their character, or main part of the story.
7. Materials: Dictionary, paper, pencils, erasers, craft materials (feathers, pom-
poms, pipe cleaners, felt paper, markers, crayons, stickers, glue, colored
paper, scissors, string, etc)
Topics: Vampires, Fairies, Dragon, Werewolf, Ghost
8. Procedures:
Step 1. Have the children draw a piece of paper from the jar.
Step 2. Have the children with the same name sit together in groups.
Step 3. Look up the definition for the form of literature your group is and each
one write it down on a piece of lined paper.
Step 4. Each child work together and create a story on a piece of paper. (Each
child should be writing and sharing with the group. Everyone should have
their ideas included)
Step 5. Each child will still work together but all have different ending for
their story.
Step 6. Each child will work together and decide what to create from their
story. Using materials at craft table.
Step 7. Group will present story and share each ending with class and share
what they created and why. (Each project should be between 10-15 minutes
long.)
9. Assessment: Participation, creativity, productiveness, dedication, staying on
topic, concept, and how well you worked together.
