Advantages & Disadvantages of Integrating Technology into the Classroom

Technology has been used everywhere lately; in the home, hospitals, malls, and even in
schools. Many people agreed that by integrating technology in the classroom this would
benefit the teacher and the student, and some of them disagreed with that opinion. The
good thing is both sides agreed on the fact that technology has advantages and
disadvantages and it depends on the way it been used.

Teachers' ability to integrate by using different technology activities that meet the student
needs is an important factor for effective integration of technology. Because while teaching,
teachers' are not just using a technology tool to explain something, actually they are
focusing on teaching the student technology skills that they will carry through the life time.

Integrating technology into classroom considers as active learning, and it includes student
interaction with the content that will build their knowledge. Moreover, students are going to
have new skills due to using different technology activities that will make them motivated to
learn more and more, and its fun at the same time.

Sometimes integrating technology into classroom fails, because of internet connection error,
downloading issues, or even taking a long time for a program to open. However, those
problems will make teacher loose time in class which will lead not to accomplish all the
activities that were planned for.

In conclusion, its an amazing thing to integrate technology into the classroom. On the other
hand, to avoid any problem, there should be another plan for the lesson, so that if anything
happened, the teacher knows how to cover the class with no worries.
