Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

Time: 10 min

The teacher will give the students question. What are dime, nickel and penny? Then she will tell them that the
new one is quarter. She will say that the quarter had 25 cents.
The teacher will show the students how the add two quarter using hundred chart.
She will answer with them some questions of adding dime, nickel, penny and quarter. She will answer the first
question and the students will answer the rest. When the first student answers right the other students have to
stand if the answer was wrong they have to stay on their place. They will repeat that with three questions.

The teacher will explain the whole class activity of the students before they go to their chairs.
Four groups, the teacher will have a box that has coins (dime, nickel, penny and quarter). She will let each
student to take one. Then each team will put the coins together and count how many cents are their using
hundred charts.
The will stick the coins on A4 paper and write the answers on it.
Then the teacher will ask the students to go to the mat and she will go to each group table and she will ask the

Reflection
In this lesson I spend more than This lesson made me know that I have to prepare plan B for Math lesson specially for
this class.
I field confuse and I did not know what to do
