Call for hosting the 8th IPSF Eastern Mediterranean

Pharmaceutical Symposium (EMPS) 2019

The IPSF Eastern Mediterranean Pharmaceutical Symposium (EMPS) is the key regional event of the
Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO) as part of the International Pharmaceutical Students
Federation (IPSF).

IPSF EMRO is calling for interested member organizations of the region to host the 8th Eastern
Mediterranean Pharmaceutical Symposium (EMPS) in 2019.

The IPSF EMPS is a 5 to 7 day international event held annually for pharmacy students and recent
graduates especially in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.

The program includes but is not limited to:

An official opening ceremony
The IPSF EMRO Regional Assembly -IPSF meetings and workshops
Symposia on topics of pharmaceutical interest of an educational and scientific nature. (The
topics will be decided upon with the help of EMRO Regional Projects Officer)
Poster exhibition
A pre-training program
Social events
A 4-days post symposium tour.
Only organizations in the Eastern Mediterranean region and who have been IPSF members for at least
one year and are of good standing can bid to host the event.

Things you must know if you wish to host a future IPSF EMPS:
Please notify the IPSF EMRO Secretary (secretary@emro.ipsf.com) of your intention no later
than the 30th of June 2017, 00 GMT+0.

The bid for hosting the 8th EMPS 2019 will be made during the IPSF Eastern Mediterranean
Regional Assembly in July 2017. The bid should include a PowerPoint presentation with
information such as the motives, advantages, a provisional budget, expected maximum number of
participants, possible venues, and tentative dates.

The finances of the EMPS are totally independent from IPSF and shall be handled by the
member association organizing it.

No profit shall be generated from this event. Any excess funds from the event will be treated
according to the IPSF Regional Office documents (Articles 13, 4. Finances). The budget shall
also cover the registration fees of at least one IPSF Executive Committee member and all of the
Regional Working Group registration fees, IPSF EMRO partners, speaker accommodations and
 transportation during the event, tokens of appreciation for speakers and judges, as well as prizes
for the Patient Counseling Event and/or Clinical Skills Event and/or Compounding Event, the pre-
EMPS Leaders in Training and Poster Exhibition.

The event registration fee shall include all accommodations, meals, and transportation during the
event. It is strongly recommended that the accommodation be cheap and basic but also clean,
safe and comfortable for all delegates.

Technical aids such as computer equipment and internet as required for the smooth running of the
EMPS should be made available.

The total of registration fee should not be above 45 Euro per night for the first registration
period.

If your bid is selected, you are required to sign an event agreement contract with IPSF.

Please read Article 13 of the IPSF Domestic Rules and article 13 of the IPSF Regional Office
document very carefully. These documents can be obtained from the IPSF Secretary General
(secgen@ipsf.org ).

The host is required to work closely with the IPSF EMRO Regional Working Group who shall
supervise the planning and organizing of the EMPS. The host will be required to submit updates
and reports whenever required and requested by the IPSF EMRO Regional Working Group.

The decision on hosting shall be voted during the IPSF EMRO 8th Regional Assembly in
Kuwait in July 2017.
