Dear LCS supporter,

Thank you for investing in the future of our community and supporting the passion and
commitment of our staff as we support and promote a just, strong, and nurturing community. We
believe that our work to strengthen families and keep children safe is vital to the future of our
community. In this season of reflection, I feel fortunate to be able to share with you an expanding list of
services and programs that are helping to build that preferred future.

Linfield class works on mural in studio

LCS teamed up with the Linfield College Art Department to create a mural for the outside of our office.
After the class of 16 students received a tour of our facility and an explanation of our mission and
services, they started work on a 130 foot by 22-inch mural. The mural wraps around the entire building
and is designed to reflect the mission of Lutheran Community Services to the community. Please stop
by our office on December 16th from 4:30-5:30 to meet the artists and share coffee and cookies.

Immigration Program up and running

The new Immigration Counseling and Advocacy Program is now serving members of our community.
We are exceedingly fortunate to have Isabel Alverez of Dayton, Oregon join our staff in July. She
brings both first-hand knowledge of the immigration process and a passion for working with the Latino
community. She has been spending the past 5 months attending trainings, shadowing immigration
counselors in Portland and promoting our program in Yamhill County. Isabel states that A big part of
the program is educating people about the complex web of immigration laws. She has been providing
free consultations around the county to help local residents determine what they need to do to maintain
or obtain legal status for themselves and family members.

In the coming months we will be working to expand our services to the community and add a citizenship
component to our program. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact us at the e-mail
below.

As you can see we are expanding our services to the community in this difficult economic climate. This
could not have happened without your financial support. Help us maintain this momentum! Your
donations will help support our communitys vulnerable populations.

In peace,

Jordan Robinson, MSW
