Dear Ms. Howell,

I am writing to express my interest in an internship with The Punch Point Group in

the fall of 2017. I am a junior at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am majoring
in Communications with a focus in public relations. Outside of school I have been
focusing on event planning, costumer service, company promotion, fundraising and
advertising. I would appreciate the opportunity to advance my skills with public and
media relations through an internship with The Punch Point Group.

I believe the combination of my current coursework, and professional experience can

make me a unique and qualified addition to The Punch Point Group as an intern. In my
current communication classes, I have been learning about various skills needed to report
and draft press releases, news reports and have become familiar with the Associated Press
guidelines and writing style. In past classes I have become familiar with many
communication theories and strategies for strong public relations and unique media
relations.

I am currently employed at Looneys Pub in College Park, I have been able to focus
on personalized service, originality and quality for our customers. I work with customers
as a server to ensure they have the best possible experience while dinning at Looneys.
Throughout my time at Looneys Pub I have been able to prioritize customer needs in fast
paced environments and under stressful situations, while working with costumers to solve
concerns and complaints.

Outside of school and work, I am philanthropy chair of my sorority, Delta Delta

Delta. This position has taught me how to plan and coordinate several events for 200+
people through effective written and verbal communication skills. It has taught me
fundraising skills, promotion, as well as handling money and budgeting. I have also
learned the significance of working well under pressure, multi-tasking, and planning
successful events. The Punch Point Group concentrates on brand building, media
relations, personalized service, executive communications, presentation skills training
and much more which are qualities I look for in my future endeavors. I am interested in
working for your company and believe my passion paired with my personality and drive
will be a beneficial addition to your internship program.
