Virtual Reality is a popular technology that has been booming in the last couple of
years. There have been many big technology companies that have come up with their
own VR devices such as: Samsung, Sony and Google. Virtual Reality is a three-
interact with these environments it requires a helmet and some type of hand device such
as a glove or controller.
The reason why I choose this technology because it can be used for different
subjects taught in class. The subjects that really benefit from virtual reality are math and
science. Usually visual learning always helps students understand a subject better than
just trying to think about what is being talked about. With using virtual reality, the
classroom would be able to interact with what is being taught such as how blood flows in
the body or how many sides there are in a hexagon. Virtual reality is a pretty awesome
way to also experience certain places that maybe no one will ever take a trip to because it
is too expensive, which would be pretty cool for when you are discussing a historical
place. The article I found talked about a teacher who taught about gravity When DPS
first graders took a virtual field trip to the Sistine Chapel to learn about gravity, the
docent described how Michelangelo lay down on his back on scaffolding and painted.
Afterwards, the teacher asked the students to crawl under their desks she had taped

paper under each one. She handed out crayons and instructed them to draw. After a few
Virtual reality is still new at being widely available to the public but there are
some programs available out there that we can utilize to get a VR system in our
classroom. Google has a way to make exploring the world easy for the classroom. Once
its rolled out fully, Google Expeditions (google.com/edu/expeditions) has the potential
lesson plan and Google will come with their cars and bring Google Cardboard
viewfinders for the students to explorer the lesson plan the teachers has planned.
Those are just a few of ways VR can be used but I know that down the road there
