The Four Seasons

Scenario: In my class I will have a student that has cerebral palsy that has a lack in motor skills. I would
like to keep them involved in group projects and also be able to develop their motor skills by art,
technology and doing hands on activities. During the worksheets the groups will switch from working on
the paper worksheets to going on the computer and doing activities on ABC mouse that are about the four
seasons. There will also be an activity where the class will be making their own book about the four
seasons. The students will be writing the seasons on top of the pages and will draw and color clothes or
trees for their books.

what we need to wear, and how to tell the seasons by the way the trees look.

Step-By-Step Procedures
1. Discuss about the four seasons
2. Ask students questions
3. Make a list of differences between the four seasons
4. After letting the students tell you examples of the four seasons, show example of the four
seasons on power point (10 minutes)
5. After examples are shown, pass out seasons worksheets
6. Have groups work on paperwork sheets and going on ABC Mouse
7. Groups will rotate to the computer every 5 minutes which means the activity would last
for 25 minutes if there were 5 groups.
8. After done with those we will go through the worksheets together to see own each group
had done. (5 minutes)
9. Once done with checking out the worksheets we will read Curious George Discovers the
Seasons by H.A. Rey (15 minutes)

(3:33 minutes)
12. Discuss the video (2-3 minutes)
13. After the discussion we will start on the four seasons book activity which they will be
able to choose from clothes or trees for their seasons book.

Plan for Independent Practice
Students will work on the seasons worksheets and ABC mouse activities in their designated groups. They
will work on three different worksheets and two activities on ABC mouse that will help on any subject
that student is struggling with.

Placing certain items with the right seasons

Separate the items of clothing with the right seasons
Placing the right tree with the season

Students will start on their four seasons book project

Start with writing each season on the four pages

They will either draw clothes or trees for the right season on each page
Should color them after they are done drawing their pictures
Will be able to color with crayons or colored pencils

Closure (Reflect Anticipatory Set)

What did you learn from the worksheets?
What did you learn from the book or video?
What is your favorite season?

Assessment Based on Objectives

Students should now be able to distinguish between the four seasons, what to wear during those seasons
and tell the season by the way the trees look.

Possible Connections to Other Subjects

The possible connection to other subjects is art but it depends on what each student learned while on ABC
mouse because there is a possible connection to reading and math.

Duration of the Lesson Plan

The lesson plan could roughly be 100 minutes long
