On the evening of April 18th 2017, NM and his mother came to the Police Department to speak with me about the allegations. This is only a small portion of the interview of what took place between NM and Lenkerd. During the interview, NM stated that a woman (Lenkerd) came around and had a gun and told him to put his hands up. He said he did not see a badge and ran and jumped the fence and ran down the road in his underwear. NM said shortly after he jumped the fence he heard a gunshot. He was asked how long he had been there before he was approached by Lenkerd, he said approximately 3 minutes, NM was asked when he was approached by Lenkerd if the gun was pointed directly at him, he said yes. He was asked what he did when she pointed the gun at him, he said that he said “ma'am ma’am” and went on to say that he was thinking to himself who would be crazy enough to point a gun at someone, and was telling himself he needed to get out of there. NM said that is when he ran and jumped over the fence. He went on to say that on his first attempt to jump the fence he lost his balance and had to climb back down. NM said during that time Lenkerd kicked her fence open and he jumped the fence and ran around a truck and then down the street. NM said as he was running he heard a gunshot and he continued to run down the street. He was asked how long after he jumped the fence and started running that he heard the gunshot, he said approximately 5 to 10 seconds. NM was asked if he said anything to Lenkerd or if she said anythingto him, he said that all he said to her was “ma’am ma’am” and wanted to tell her to put the gun down and that it wasn’t right to do this. He went on to say that he didn’t get the chance to say any of that and ran and jump the fence, NM went on to say that he ran home, changed clothes, and told his mother a false story and later met with Police.
