ASTEC Materials Testing Corporation (Formerly Associated

Services and Testing Center-ASTEC) has become a brand name

SERVICES PROVIDED

SUBSURFACE SOIL INVESTIGATION

ASTEC carried out soil investigation for numerous government and private
projects (i.e., Buildings, Site Development, Warehouses, Bridges,
Elevated Water Tanks & Slipways) for the soil analysis and engineering
properties of the soil for bearing capacity, appropriate type of foundation
and other geotechnical engineering requirements.

Compression Test

ASTEC has eleven (11) modern microprocessor controlled compression

testing machines which have force capacities ranging from 1500 kN to
3000kN. Matest cybertronics were installed to enable witnessing party to
view the result and actual load rate in a large display.

Three-Edge Bearing Test of Concrete Pipes

ASTEC has carried out three-edge bearing and absorption test of

reinforced concrete pipes for numerous private and government projects.
We have the capacity to test samples ranging from 152mm to 2100mm
diameter class I to V; Wall A, B, C.

ASTEC has carried out Rebound number of hardened concrete for private and government
projects. This test method is applicable to assess the in-place uniformity of concrete, to
delineate regions in a structure of poor quality or deteriorated concrete, and to estimate
in-place strength development.

Tensile Test of Steel Materials

ASTEC has carried out tensile & bending test of steel materials for private
and government projects. We have the capacity to test samples ranging to
6mm to 45mm diameter, Grade 33 to Grade 60.

Field Density Test

ASTEC has carried out density and unit weight of soil in-place by sand cone
method conforming to ASTM D-1556 & AASHTO T-191

Verification / Calibration of Testing Equipment

ASTEC / SCHOTTEL Engineering Services is accredited by the Bureau of

Research and Standards of the DPWH to meet your calibration
requirements. Our company can calibrate compression machines, Rebound
Hammer Apparatus and balances.
