Solution

BelowaresomescenarioswhichhelpexplainbehaviorofDistinctSystemwithAutoRulesOnly:
1.Createabaseobjectwith1manualmergerule.
2.Create2newrecordsintheBOthatshouldmatchonyourautomergerule
3.SwitchonDistinctSystemandleaveautorulesflagoff
4.Runmatchyoushouldnotgetanymatches.IfyoulookatthelogfileyoushouldfindtheDSVlogicthatdeletesmatchesfromthete
matchhasrun
5.Resetconsolidationindto4fortherecords
6.Changethematchruletoanautomergerule
7.Rerunmatchagainagainyoushouldnotgetanymatches
8.Resetconsolidationindto4fortherecords
9.Changethematchrulebacktoamanualrule
9.Switchonthe'AutoMatchRules'flagfortheDistinctsystem
10.RerunmatchagainthistimeyoushouldgetmatchesinMTCHtablewithautomergeflag=0.Ifyoulookatthelogfileyoushould
excludesmatcheswherematchruleisflaggedforautomerge,butallowsmatcheswherematchruleisnotflaggedforautomerge.
Ifthereisanautorulewhichmatchesrecordspriortothemanualmatch,thenthoserecordswillnotshowupasmatches.Inthiscaset
