One unit that covers the following two ratings and To be transported oil filled
operates under two configurations: Interconnection between transformers or in case of
a) 335kV 16x0.75% / 136kV / 13.8 kV @300 MVA or necessity for separate shipment with plugs or flexible
b) 134kV 5x1.84% / 69KV / 13.8 kV @150 MVA hoses
3 single phase units Weight as light as possible (tank design braces
Synthetic Ester alternative insulation fluid instead of thick wall)
Tertiary for supply transformer AC power requirements a. Transformer completely assembled:
and other station auxiliary power requirements 219.400lbs (99.600kg)
Load tap changer: +/- 12% with LTC in main tank b. Shipping weight with conservator (with oil):
DETC developed and build in-house to reconnect 216.000lbs (98.000kg)
between the two operation voltage c. Shipping weight without conservator (with oil,
partly dry air): 194.000lbs (88.000kg)
d. Shipping weight (dry air filled): 130.000lbs
(59.000kg)
Actual Project Status e. Total oil weight: 74.300lbs (33.700kg)

Additional Details
Nomex insulation + Ester fluid, higher temperature capability of fluid and insulation. Higher average temperature and
winding hot spot limits.
Plug in system for cable and bushings used up to the 335kV system
245kV plug in bushings with 2600A for H2 and LV1 LV2
Conservator low rise design - can even be removed for reduced height shipping
Extremely small footprint for least substation base areas
Separate terminals for all HV voltage systems
Measured sound pressure level below 70 db(A) under no-load and full load
Electrical wiring on the transformer
Piping on the transformer (pre-assembled, flexible)
Same terminals for all LV voltage systems for bushings or cables
Two oil air coolers mounted on the narrow end for reduced shipping width and space constrains on site.
Cooling equipment to be installed on separate flatbed truck.
Combined Neutral - cable connected
Combined TW cable connected To form a three-phase unit in field
We ordered the mobile resilience transformers because we want to get our network up and
running faster after outages, as cost-effectively as possible. (Sanjay Bose, Vice President,
Consolidated Edison Co. of New York, Inc.)
