A Gardnerville Ran-
chos woman on a deferred
sentence was ordered to
complete 20 hours of com-
munity service after she
tested positive for alcohol.
Crystal Ashley, 37, was
arrested in March 2016
on charges of battering
her minor daughter while
intoxicated.
On Monday, Ashley
said shed tested positive
because shed used cold
medicine.
A South Lake Tahoe
man who admitted he has
a cocaine problem will
attend drug court.
Eli D. Hightower, 26,
was arrested March 17 on a
drug case dating back more
than two years.
In December 2014
deputies found a back-
pack beneath a tree in the
parking lot of the Stateline
CVS. Inside the back-
pack were a passport and
birth certificate belonging
to Hightower, as well as
about 10 grams of cocaine,
a digital scale and other
paraphernalia.
A South Lake Tahoe
man will remain in custody
on drug charges.
Rogelio G. Hernandez,
39, was arrested Feb. 11
following a traffic stop in
Stateline. During the traffic
stop deputies observed a
large bag of methamphet-
amine, a scale and baggies
in the car, and Hernandez
didnt have a valid drivers
license.
His sentencing is set for
June 12.
