Please accept this letter of interest regarding the Music Educator position at your school. I learned of this
position while reviewing the Wisconsin Education Career Access Network. As a passionate and
committed graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, I am looking forward to continuing my
career path at this school.
As a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Music Education program, I have been
thoroughly prepared to teach students by helping them form deep understandings about life skills and
complex topics while interacting with my content area, music. Throughout my education, my dispositions
for collaborative leadership have been evaluated three times. Focusing on developing these dispositions in
my practicum placement at Fall Creek High School shaped my experience and helped me form
meaningful relationships with my cooperating teacher and the students. Bringing enthusiasm and new
ideas to the position, I conducted the high school concert choir and increased their understanding of
complex issues through music instruction.
During my student teaching in Aldine Texas, I worked with both a middle school and elementary
placement which honed my teaching philosophy, augmented my teaching skills, and introduced me to
teaching in an urban setting. This experience proved that I can adapt to multiple environments and
cultures. As I learned while studying music in South Africa, I have a passion for being immersed in
cultures outside of my own. Studying in South Africa also showed me that students are students around
the world; they want to know that I care about them and have their best interests in mind. Teachers have
immense power over their classrooms and can greatly impact the lives of their students. I want to be a
teacher so I can positively impact students through music by helping them express themselves and create
understandings through the lens of music.
Throughout my college career, work as a camp counselor, and my student teaching in Aldine, I have
proven that I can handle multiple projects at once while still completing high quality work and focus on
