To whom it may concern,

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Ms. Natalina Focarelli. Ms.
Focarelli completed her student teaching experience here at Bordentown Regional Middle School this
spring and did a tremendous job. As her cooperating teacher, I admire how Ms. Focarelli has taken on
all the responsibilities of a sixth and seventh grade teacher. She has been a great asset to our students.

I have had the opportunity to work side by side with Ms. Focarelli both formally and informally on
many occasions and can attest to her excellence in the classroom. Having observed her full lessons on
Writing and Reading Workshop, which includes both fiction and non-fiction, I am impressed by many
aspects of her effort. Her lessons are planned intricately and included all the necessary ingredients for

There is an emphasis on varied learning styles and also authentic assessment. Ms. Focarelli uses her
Special Education background to enhance every level of her students. Whether her students have
accommodations or not, Ms. Focarelli uses her strategies to reach everyone. Her students feel
comfortable and reassured that she is present to guide and encourage. Her lessons involve the use of
technology through video presentations, use of the Internet, reinforcement of skills, and the use of
music for writing. Also evident in her ninety minute cores are her ability to examine critical thinking
questions, link learning through literature and real life experiences, and she always has an outstanding
rapport with her students. Her assignments are given with careful instruction. While her rubrics assist
the expectations of all students. Ms. Focarellis enduring dedication to her students is evident. She
gives up lunch each day to assist students in need or just encourage the others. This is an exceptional
quality in a teacher.

Undoubtedly, Ms. Focarelli will be an outstanding teacher and will have a positive impact on many
students. She is a natural and would make a great addition to your staff. If I can be of any help,
please do not hesitate to call me at Bordentown Regional Middle School.
