Biography:

Guru Pandit Ashes Sengupta, an exponent


of Indian Ragas & Raga-based Music with
uncanny musical vision like all luminaries
from his very youth, a torch-bearer of
Traditional Hindustani vocal music, but a
strong believer of application of ‘Indian
Yoga technique’ on Hindustani Music. In
the global musical arena, he is ‘The Guru’
at 'Sangeet Yogam' [A Research Center of
Hindustani Music].
A dedicated soul, a born teacher, Panditji,
dreams off nurturing young talents till
they can establish themselves in a way of
success & fulfillment of life.
Pandit Ashes Sengupta actuated by a
mighty missionary zeal to bequeath his
hard-earned wealth of musical knowledge
and experience to posterity, conceived
and evolved the most Yoga based
scientific method of music – the ‘Sangeet
Yoga’ method. This method is a happy
synthesis of both Yoga and Modern
systems, methodology of teaching music,
and has proved its validity in practice.
Pandit Sengupta, an illustrious and very
exceptional classical vocalist of India, is
no less renowned in the arena of other
genres of Indian vocal music including all
forms of semi-classical songs.Above all
Pandit Ashes Sengupta is a visionary, the
guru.

BIODATA-ASHES SENGUPTA(Vocalist)

Pandit ASHES SEN GUPTA is a Senior fellow of


Ministry of Culture, Government of India, as
an outstanding Vocalist and Musicologist of
Indian Classical and Semi-Classical Tradition.

Panditjee is an accomplished Vocal performer


who preached Indian Music in almost all
major cities in India since 1980, in addition
to his several musical tours round the World.
Since 1990, he has been frequently visiting to
demonstrate vocal music in--U.S, JAPAN,
CANADA, FRANCE, SWITZERLAND,
NETHERLANDS, GERMANY, SWEDEN.

MASTER OF MUSIC (Classical Vocal), B.ED.

Biodata
Born on 7th March 1992, Alick Sengupta
belongs to a family that has been dedicated
to Hindustani Vocal music for several
generations. Initiated into Vocal Music by his
father, International Vocalist & Senior Fellow
Ministry Of India, Government Of India, Shri
Ashes Sengupta.
*Alick has successfully performed at several
Vocal concerts with his father from early
childhood. He has also fared excellently in

Sengupta mesmerized Classical music
enthusiasts of the city at the grand finale of
the Golden Talent Contest organized by the
Pt. Ravi Kichlu Foundation at the GD Birla
Sabhagar on Thursday evening.

Such was….. command over……vocal


chords, that even the panel of judges,
comprising Padmabhushan Smt Girija Devi,
Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Jaya Biswas,
Haimanti Shukla and Gobindo Bose, were left
spellbound and praised….Alik
wholeheartedly……shortlisted from nearly
700 candidates after several rigorous rounds
of competition. The contest was held in
association with The Times of India.

"I am nervous to perform after hearing these


two young talents. It seems children of
Kolkata start learning music since the time
they are in their mother's womb," said Pt.
Hari Prasad Chaurasia in just before giving a
special flute recital. While Alick Sengupta
impressed the audience with his rendering of
raga Malkauns………….."It is heartening to
see that there is a long-standing culture in
Bengal to encourage children to excel in
classical music. These children have given
performances of high quality," said Veena
Kichlu, wife of the late Pt Ravi Kichlu”.
As an outstanding Vocalist, he was awarded
a government scholarship by the Ministry of
Culture, Govt. of India in 2005. He joined ITC
SRA as a Scholar in September 2009,
training under Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar.
