Child abuse can have many effects on the people involved. Both the child and the parents
are affected on an emotional and physical level. Child abuse is when a child is harmed
physically, mentally, or emotionally by their parent or parents. Child abuse has become a
prominent problem in todays society. Many adults in modern society have admitted that they
were abused as a child. Furthermore, child abuse has been going on ever since the first reported
incident back in 1874. There are many reasons that lead to child abuse such as mental instability,
poor parental childhood, and stress. The children are especially effect and can lead to future child
abuse of their children. If child abuse is left uncheck, it can create a cycle that continues over and
over again. There need to be regulations and solutions to fix issues involving child abuse. For
example, foster cares are created so that children hat have been abused can go and find sanctuary.
In addition, both the child and the parent(s) are harmed during child abuse. When the parent is
harming the child whether it be physically or mentally, the parent is harming themselves in the
process. A child abuse can be detected through their actions and movements. Child abusers are
found in a variety of ethnicity, race, age, and belief. The abuse caused by the parent(s) on the
child can lead to a variety of different outcomes. This can be prevented if the child abuse can be
stopped early on before any permanent damage is done. Child abuse is caused by parental
negligence and physical abuse but can be solved by creating a safer environment for the children.

Moreover, a child abuser can be anywhere and anyone. There is no telling who is a child
abuser and who is not. This problem can be solved by using a lie detector test, this allows the
government to find out who is a child abuser and who is not. Furthermore, by creating a
mandatory lie detector test creates intimidation and discourages child abusing. In addition, there
should be more child protection laws and regulations to prevent children from getting beaten by
their parents. There should be an emergency phone line or task force dedicated to helping
children in need. Furthermore, there should a be a mandatory test to prove that a person is
capable of taking care of a child before they are given permission to have a child. In addition,
children that have been taken away from their abusive parents have been sent to foster care
homes to find new parents. Furthermore, children that are subjected to abuse are more likely to
misuse and abuse alcohol and drugs. An official government agency should be created to the
dedication of stopping child abuse and providing the help needed to children who are being
harmed. In order to prevent this, children should be encouraged to find alternatives to relieving
their stress and sorrow such as recreational sports, special hobbies or interests, or listening to
music.
In addition, ways that children cope with abuse can be a dangerous thing if left
unsupervised. Stress is created when the child is under extreme pressure and exposed to child
abuse. Stress can cause the child to do irrational things and can lead to disastrous consequences.
Also, child abuse can have a lasting effect on the child. The child could have emotional scars that
will follow them for the rest of their lives. In order to change this, there must be mandatory
mental therapy sessions provided to the afflicted children to prevent further emotional damage.
In addition, children that are being abused can have physical problems and scars. Physical
therapy can be provided to solve this problem. Physical therapy can help children regain their
Gibson 3
strength and composure from the physical abused inflicted on them. By eliminating the cause of
abuse to the child, this will ensure that the child will not grow up to become a child abuser
themselves. A plan should be created to ensure that all children that are subjected to abuse get
The parents and the children are affected in many different ways. The parents undergo
stress in their lives that they think they can get rid of by taking it out on their child. There should
be a help line created to help adults relieve their stress or help take care of their problems so that
they are less likely to abuse their child. Also, the children are affected deeply. Children that have
been abused as a child tend to be child abusers themselves as an adult. They believe that because
they were abused as a child it is ok for them to abuse their children. Established educational
classes need to be enforced to explain the effects and the problems that arise when child abuse is
happening.
You have to ask yourself, how can I make a change in an abused childs life? the cycle of
abuse is different with every child but has the same traumatic experience mentally. The proposal
of ending the abuse starts with monitoring of behaviors in schools. Teachers should be equipped
with educational courses within trainings to recognize signs and symptoms of abuse in children.
Administrators should then be trained on creating an environment or support group for that child
within the school to let them know they are not alone. Often time children are set up with an in
school counselor that they frequently meet with to talk. However, after talking those children still
have to go home and deal with the abuse. it may not be feasible to remove every child from an
abusive home, but it is feasible to create a safe, fun, loving environment in the space where most
of their day is spent. Creating groups within schools that involve teacher, volunteers and
Gibson 4
counselors coming together to get these kids involved and distracted may have long lasting
effects on them and may redirect their paths for the better. Once a week teachers, students and
counselors can meet within school times and have discussions, share encouragement, do physical
therapy to regain strength and work on projects that stimulate the mind to deter them from being
stressed all day. The time these meeting can happen can be during school hours such as lunch or
using this as an elective hour. This way these students will be more than likely to attend.
As for the parents that create these dysfunctional homes, There previously stated proposal of
educational classes should be mandatory. Parents whose child is in school, and has shown signs
of abuse, should be asked to attend monthly meetings, ordained by the courts, to educate and
enforce correct treatment of the child. the meetings should always be non accusatory and
supportive of the Childs development but still focused on the parent. It should be a non
judgmental environment that simply asks for help from parents to help with stress. stress
relievers courses can include breathing exercises, non physical discipline, and even yoga. Yoga
has been proven to create mindfulness in many people and relieve stress in some many beneficial
ways. These meetings can happen on weekends during times parents agree to be available. To
ensure attendance, schools should contact jobs to make sure parents are available for a two hour
The fight to end child abuse starts with the people around them. The schools, friends, neighbors
and etc. should not just stand around and let the cycle of abuse continue. Children need help and
love from all angles. the mental health of the future generation is at stake if a change is not made
with thing the community. If the world is run by emotionally traumatized individuals the world
Gibson 5
will not flourish. The human brain is dependent on the need of love and support. Abused children
are often isolated and dead emotionally and mentally as a long term effect. It is hard to be stable
after trauma. It is more than important that we stop the chaos and the noise early in a childs life
as a result of abuse. The earlier we stop the abuse the better this world will be. No child should
be or fell neglected by the person who is suppose to love them and teach them love. The
proposals I created are more than feasible to produce and should be implemented in every school
system.
