Getting a driving licence in Dubai is not as hard as you may have been told, it just takes a bit of preparation. We have included the following tips to help you
have the best chance for 5rst time success:
Dress Appropriately: On your test day, always go in dress smartly, give a good 5rst impression to your examiner. (Its really important)
Dont Ask: Just do what your examiner says, dont ask questions from him.
Dont Forget: Avoid forgetting to adjust your seat, mirrors and fasten your seat belt. (Examiners always observe this)
Fasten Seat belt: Always tell other people sitting in back seat to fasten their seat belt. (Dont miss this).
Good Speed: Drive con5dently in a relaxed mood at a good speed (within speed limit). Examiners dont like driving too slow.

Check Handbrake: Before starting the engine, you must check the handbrake, and dont forget to put the vehicle into gear.
Entering the Main Road: When entering the road, you must check your side mirrors and then perform a blind spot check. The blind spot check is really
important. If you dont check it, then you FAIL the test. It is a fatal mistake. (Very Important)
Keep a safe distance: Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. I hope you know the two second rule. If you dont, its quite simple. Keep two
seconds between you and the car in front. Thats it really.
Changing Lane: While changing lane, dont forget to check mirrors and blind spot, then indicate. Speed up your vehicle immediately (within speed limit) after
changing lane from slow to fast one.
T-Junction: When turning onto a main road from a secondary road at a T-junction, wait until the road is clear and you have enough time to pull out safely at
a relaxed pace.
Blind Spot: Dont ever miss your blind spot check. It is really important. If you forget your blind spot check, you FAILED.
Hard Brakes: Dont apply hard brakes, excessive braking is a minor mistake. Keep your minor mistakes as low as possible, because too many can add up to
punish you with a fail.
Roundabouts: Dont forget the roundabout rules. You always have to give RIGHT indicator while exiting. Never enter a roundabout unless you 5nd no
vehicle coming from your left side.
U-turn: Shift to low speed lane after taking U-turn in fast lane from a roundabout.
Park: Always park your car parallel to the road when asked to park by the examiner. Never park in front of any entrance or gate.
On test day, when your name is called out go along with the other three candidates and the RTA inspector to the designated car. You will be given just a few
minutes to demonstrate your driving and anticipatory skills. Good Luck!

Dear all . please help me I already appeared 8 times in road test and I have taken 114 classes toaday was my class again instructor advised me to
work very hard because still my driving is not good. Sorry He said u have lack of con5dence. And as per my information I did not listen examiner
instructions clearly and request him to repeat the commands. Please tell me how I can improve. I have no courage nor money to proceed further.

I have one confusion, while parking 5rst we have to pull the hand break or change gear to P.

Mate 5rst you should change your gear to P which stands for Parking then pull the hand break.

5rst RTA Road test for light vehicle manual gear in Belasha Driving Center jebel ali , i reached 30 min before the test, i submit my learning paper to the Test
Department, there were 7/8 students in waiting .. after 15 min my name called to take my learning permit return, then called another name.. after that
another one, both were Bangladeshi, One about around 38, another one about 25, i asked them what is yours Test timing ? .. our time is same with you
another one replied. He asked me how many test you attempt? When i said this is 5rst attempt, he said.. ohhh no Problem, this is my 4th attempt elder one
said another one said its my 5th attempt, we were talking together .. RTA examiner straight came i greet him politely, he and asked our name one by one..
and he told us to go inside left side room, he show us by 5nger towards that room. There were small cabin after we entered, he also came and asked one by
one .? how many test you all have been attempted ? He talked in Hindi, with nervous voice old one said its my 4th test sir, ( yeh mera 4th test hain sir)
another one with same act nervously replied, 5th test sir ( yeh mera 5th test hain sir) and i said sir its my 5rst attempt.. Examiner was looking on face of both
them, he said dont worry ( tum pass ho jawoge tension nahi leneka, gadime jawo aaram se baitho) go and sit in car you will pass dont be panic, he asked us
to go in car, he said.. ok whos First attempt come you drive 5rst (ok 5rst attempt wala chalawo gadi ) i checked vehicle all around before i start engine, i
reverse car with very con5dently my instructor was near by gate i saw he were observing me before i cross gate i was waited 8/10 sec for trac gap,
I entered in road with proper signal head,mirrors cheek, road speed limit was 40 kmph. i drove in 45 .. he told me to take left i did with proper way without
Missing anything . I faced 2 junction and 2 signal, after that he told me to enter in highway, i waited with indicator for clear view and perfect gap, road limit
was 60 kmph, i pick car instantly in 2nd 3rd and 4th gear i drove in 65 Kmphr speed, suddenly examiner asked me to change left lane, i checked 5rst rear
view mirror then side mirror and shoulder i made conform there were much space i entered then again he asked me change right lane, i did in same proper
way then after two min he asked me to stop park car there he show me bust stop, parking slot he said park fast ..i parked without asking him, Im not allow
to park in bus parking slot. Because he was asking me to park fast ..fast.. i locked hand break then down gear.i drove 7 min totally,
He said come next one, old man came to drive before he enter lane he just checked side mirror and shoulder then he was going to enter in lane suddenly car
engine switched o, because he release clause very quick, Examiner didnt say anything he just looked at that man, again he started engine and entered in
lane this time he forget to check his shoulder he just checked aide mirror and rear view mirror, when he was changing gear each time he release clause very
quick due of that vehicle moved wide and jerk, when he entering in to signal he stop vehicle in half line, examiner said.. baba you have idea? You have to

movement acting but he was very nervous, Examiner asked him to go straight and take left and enter in highway, he went according step by step, but when
he was changing gear vehicle moving wide and jerk same as previous man, after entering highway the examiner asked him to change lane .. he did that but
very quick he took very fast judgment with rear view mirror without moving his body language, from the signal examiner asked him to take right from the
signal he down his gear 4th to 3rd and stopped before the signal in 3rd gear. He was about to move ON after green signal but he couldnt pick vehicle in
timely suddenly engine gone switch o, he was very nervous this time and very hurry to move vehicle he started again engine examiner said go go.. he show
by hand go go fast..he moved on from that signal, we are about to enter now Belasha School he turned indicator and waited,he gave way to vehicle which
coming towards to him after that he suppose to enter in school gate again he did same fault, he tried to move in 3rd gear and he release very fast clause
engine got stopped, Examiner got 5red and himself(examiner) he put 5rst gear by his left hand and told him to move on.. he now he entered in parking he
was totally hopeless and nervous now after examiner 5red, examiner himself he controlled string and made straight car in the parking, but guy he press very
hard break instantly in parking, he drove totally 12 min,
Fired examiner without saying anything he went inside oce, we all came out from vehicle, they both said this time also i cannot pass, so many major
mistake i have done, elder one and another one they said to me, you drove very eciently you are very nice driver you are pass, we both failed we are sure,
old one is also said i will close my 5le i will not attempt next test soon. They were very sad but i was very con5dent i may pass, i thought because i havent
done any mistake i drove very clean.
Finally we went inside and we stand in one corner, after 5 mun examiner came along with one piece paper and gave that to Test Department CSR ( customer
care representative ) both Bangladeshi said see your paper is came only you pass, we know that is your paper they said me with very strange voice. CSR
called my name and given me that paper i asked him sir did i pass ? he said NO you are fail, . I shocked !! We started to see my paper what was fault
examiner pointed, a mazor mistake he pointed that i stop vehicle unnecessary before signal .. uuuggrrhh we not believe that. And after two min CSR called
their name both Bangladeshi were pass ! They shocked and said ya allaha !! They were not believing that they were pass after so many major mistake.
I quite aside thinking and thinking.. i started talk myself why he did this to me? because this is my 5rst Test Or because im Non muslim so ?
After 30 min i went to meet my Instructor i told him all the details happened during test, he also shocked.. said how could happen this ?
He asked me, did you asked with both of them how this happened ? Again he said It seems like something elsewhere they force to pass them anyhow.
I shocked when i hear this from my instructor, and i asked him is that possible sir? He replied actually its not possible nowadays but may be who knows he
said !!
But, myself i Dont believe That,
So guys this happened in my 5rst test today.
I realized , discrimination is not only in my work place or only in my Company. There is everywhere in uae , people dont behave us equally, Most of People
act us individually as per religions,race etc. !!

Why does the level of the Road Test be so dicult ? Is it required. I think it is not fair, as driving is quite simple.
Why do you have to make it so dicult ?
I agree with you, that we make the mistakes and the RTA Examiners penalise us. But those are quite simple mistakes, which happen with experienced drivers
as well.
I think it is more to do with the Financial angle. All the drivers are only con5dent after 3 6 months of driving.
This is more to do with LUCK, than anything else.

Truth is, RTA expects a level of perfection during the 5-10 minute of road test, which is dicult to attain given the probability of dierent driving scenarios.
This isnt like a paper exam where the questions are the same for all candidates. If some crazy dude dangerously crosses your lane at 100kph your instinct
will tell you to step on the breaks, or honk abruptly. If RTA guy is in a not so good mood does this mean I will instantly fail?

So, I am 5nally here to post that I passed in my 5th attempt yesterday.

Brief as below
i had taken initial 40 classes (yes, i never had DL in my home country) at Discovery Gardens, the roads which are exactly how it should be, 80kmph speed
limit, has roundabouts, lane change scope, T Junctions everything. But less dicult than any other road because of trac, specially for weekend classes. And
the instructors somehow in DG branch are not so good than anywhere else. (maybe that is due to road condition also).
Anyways, so i obviously failed in my 1st road test which was at Al Barsha Branch. Al Barsha has heavy ow of cars, trailers and goods vehicles in 40kmph
road also and Lane change in 60kmph road and U turns. And i was not used to of driving in such crowded condition.
So out of my total attempts, i failed twice due to NOT HONKING for a possible danger. There would be always some vehicle coming from parking area into
main lane and i used to cross it without any HORNs. Also in one of my attempt, nothing went wrong in lane change, and i still failed due to immediate
mistake of improper lane change. I never know till date what went wrong in there.
In my 5th attempt, i was almost frustrated with shelling out so much of money in every attempt and thought of giving if i fail this time. But the moment i
reached the Test center, i found that the same examiner who had tested me three times before would be taking my test this time too. So i followed his
expectations of SAFE LANE CHANGE and HONKING IF DANGER IS AROUND. This is exactly what i did during my test. There was this big trailer who was
moving in my lane in opposited direction coming our from parking area and had his indicators on. I honked at him and made him alert. Only when i became
sure that he was aware of my existence, i moved forward. Rest everything went smooth but the examiner has stilled asked me is it your 1st time? i said
NO and chose to ignore his comment and did not let my performance get aected, and this paid well in the last.
Lastly when we reached back in the school, the examiner commented Your Driving is Good. So the morale is, they are mostly looking how alert and safe
driver you are. Next comes is that how far you follow the rules and signals. But importantly you should not be doing anything which caused IMMEDIATE
FAILURE
And then i got a con5rmation SMS, that i Passed. I had been dreaming of this day since so long. Anyways, better late than never.

10/12/2015 Today was a big day for me.

I passed my road test in 1st attempt (manual licence) and yes, i read all your comments and advises and tried following it. i was afraid initially but thanks to
Jesus Christ and Mother Mary i passed 1.45 pm my test started and i was called 1st to drive along with 2 other. I started my car and put gear to reverse. i
was very close to the car behind me which was parked but i was warned by my examiner to take care and relax. i drove for more then 15min, crossed 3
signal, 1 free right and 2 normal left turns, few lane change and then examiner told me to park the car. the next guy was very nervous and he jerked car 2
times and he was failed immediately. 3rd guy was good but at last when he was told to park inside Galadari parking area he got confused and parked
outside line.
The only thing i want to tell is that be con5dent and drive carefully. Its not only luck and mood of examiner but our right attitude and con5dence of driving.

LICENSE AND TOTAL COST ME 3,840 AED. ITS EASY TO PASS JUST BE CONFIDENT AND KEEP AWAY FEARS THEN DO WHAT THE EXAMINER TOLD YOU TO DO.
HOW I PASS;1- I MAKE SURE AM SCANNING THE ROAD ALL THE TIME AND ON CHANGING LANES I CHECK MIRROR CENTRE, SIDE AND BLIND SPOTS
2- FROM ASSESSMENT TEST I WAS TOLD AM CHANGING LANE ON THE LINE INSTEAD OF MAKING L-SHAPE SO I AVOID THIS AT THE FINAL TEST
3- I MAINTAIN 2MINS FOLLOWING DISTANCE AND I CAME TO FINAL STOP AT THE STOP SIGN AND LOOK AROUND BEFORE JOINING THE 60KM SPEED
ROAD,SPEED UP AND NEVER EXCEED LIMIT AND IMMEDIATELY I ENTER 40KM ROAD I ADJUST MY SPEED. THE EXAMINER TOLD ME AM TOO SLOW BUT I
NEVER MIND HIM AND IMMEDIATELY HE TOLD ME MY DRIVING IS TOO SMOOTH THAT I SHOULD PARK AT THE SAME TIME BEFORE LEAVING THE STEERING,

Hi I am from the disabled course, have failed twice before. Same examiner, while on the merging road I had stopped the car and it was a min that we were
standing at the same place. When I thought there was a space to merge in I tried but the examiner put brake and said there was no space. And failed me

It is not safe to suddenly change lanes by cutting in front of other vehicles. Sudden lane
changes contribute to a signi5cant number of road crash fatalities and injuries.
Guidance
Before changing lanes, indicate correctly and make sure that the move can be made safely.
Indicate for 2 to 3 seconds and adjust your speed to match the speed of trac in the lane
you intend to move in.
Re-check if the gap is still available by looking over your shoulder and in the mirrors (back
and side).
Change lanes gradually, and turn o the lane-change indicator as soon as you complete the
lane change.

Dont get panic on your examiner.

Drive Con5dently.
Indicate before you turn into the roundabout
Check the mirrors frequently while you are in highway and while reducing speed.
check blind spots before you change lane.
Steps to change lane
1.Dont look at wrong direction (looking at wrong direction will result you fail)
eg: if you are moving to left lane, then dont look at right and vise versa.
2.Check the center mirror to judge the distance of vehicle behind you.
3.check your side mirror (to make sure any vehicle may get into the lane where you are trying to change)
4.check blind spot (turn half body left-back) on your side. (But be careful that your stearing must not out of control while checking the blind spot which cause
you fail.
you have to 5nish all the 4 steps with in 2 or 3 seconds. (making delay on checking the mirrors or improper check may also cause you fail)

Since I couldnt look for an article on RTA Internal Yard Test (which is now a major hurdle for DL aspirants) on your website, I thought of sharing my
experience here which would de5nitely help a lot of people.
So here it goes
I appeared the RTA Internal Yard Test very recently. This was my 5rst attempt. (and my last too.:p)
As I was informed to appear at the test venue 30 minutes prior to the test time, I believe this has helped me a lot, These initial 30 minutes waiting I could
spend watching the other test takers driving. This was very useful as it has helped me to observe the mistakes done by others. So here is the 5rst advice, (1)
reach early and keenly observe others driving.
I remember I was called with one more guy. The examiner 5rst took our LP and asked us whether its our 5rst time to which both of us replied positively. The
other guy had to start 5rst, With him and the examiner in front seat and me at the rear, the driver was asked to park Garage 5rst. He started well and slowly,
while reversing he could not take right judgement of the gap of the parking area and kept on reversing where 5nally he hit the left rear tire with the parking
edges. By now he started panicking knowing that he is going to fail. Since he couldnt do his garage parking properly, the examiner then told him to do the
parallel parking. He was totally stressed by now and did the same mistake in parallel parking too. He was then called o the driving seat.
It was my turn next. The examiner called me. I started very normally, though there was a slight fear of failure in me but I did not exhibit. I did all my safety
check 5rst, Seat belt, Mirrors (my right side mirror was 5ne but still I touched it slightly to make sure the examiner notices my attention given to safety
measures), Handbrakes etc. I was told to do Garage parking 5rst.
Now here is the thing, when you are learning how to do garage parking with your training instructor, the dimensions of that learning parking area are slightly
dierent from the dimensions of the TEST Area. This was where most of the people made mistake even the ones before me whom I was observing during
my 5rst 30 minutes waiting period. They were doing what they were taught to do (which of course you should be doing) but they couldnt take the right
judgement of the parking area during the test. In fact I did what I was taught but I have slightly modi5ed my maneuvers. While reversing I turned maybe half
a sec earlier then the previous guy which landed my car in right position of the garage parking.
Also another point, when doing Garage parking, most of the people tried to park the car just by staying in the reverse gear R itself which ended up failing
them. Most of the people DONT KNOW that they are allowed to shift their gears during any parking test. There is no prohibition on shifting gears. You can
shift your gears but note that your passing or failure depends on how much time you consume in making these additional maneuvers. (For example, during
garage parking, if you shift you gear from reverse R to Drive D then your time in making these maneuvers should not exceed 3 minutes and you should
quickly be able to park your car). Tip 2: During reverse garage parking, shift gear only if it really necessary and you feel that you rear tiers will hit the parking
boundaries. In fact this was what was done by me. I had to shift my gear in order to come in the right position. THIS (I believe) made a very good impression
on the examiner.
I was then told to do Parallel Parking which was done quite smoothly as per the lessons that I learnt. But during parallel parking I was not taught one thing
which later I found that one of my friend failed his test due to this simple point.
This is what it is exactly: When you exit parallel parking you have follow certain step like 1, shoulder, 2. indicator sign, 3 Exit slowly. NOW the point to note
here is you MUST move your steering simultaneously while releasing the brakes slowly. If you 5rst move your steering and then releasing you brakes then
this is considered to be one of the violations. I was not told this by my learning instructor.
Also another point you must remember while parallel parking is to make a head check to the opposite side of your parking 5rst and then do the parking. This
is very important. This is to ensure that there are no vehicles coming from the other side while you are parking. I remember speaking to one of the person in
the same school who was failed during his third try due to this reason.
(Note: When you fail you dont fail because of only one reason. The examiner is supposed to analyse your complete driving situation and he gives you points
where ever you make a mistake. If you accumulate more that 4 points then you fail. I was given 3 point luckily so i passed during my 5rst attempt itself).
After completing my Parallel parking, the examiner then told me to just control steering and told me not to press any breaks or accelerator, he then
suddenly pressed the accelerator to maximum and told me to immediately break. So I suddenly pressed the breaks. Now this is called as EMERGENCY
BRAKING. While learning emergency breaking, we used to drive in one particular area which was designated to emergency breaking only. So I was hoping
that he would take me 5rst to that area and then perform this task. But the examiner just did it suddenly. Be aware of this.
Anyways the next thing now was SLOPE, which was pretty easy if you remember the steps. Below are the steps for SLOPE.
Stop at the top of the hill by (1) moving the gear to N (Neutral) while your right leg is still on the breaks, (2) pulling the handbrake and then releasing you foot
from the leg brakes. Your car is on halt now. While resuming you must 5rst Shift to Drive D and slowly press the accelerator while releasing the hand brakes,
You must make sure you car must not go even slightly backward.
This was the last phase of the test for me. The examiner did not even bother to take my test for Angle Parking which I was less con5dent at :p
I believe that the impression made on him during my 5rst parking kind of helped me here. To the examiner, I looked con5dent, which apparently the only
reason I passed even this being my 5rst attempt.
I hope that this article helps those who will be appearing for their Internal Yard Test.
One more thing, if you get your Internal Test date very late then you can reschedule it to an earlier date. I told the driving school that I will be on a short
vacation during that time and asked them to reschedule it to which I almost saved my 15 days.

The most important thing i want to share with all of you, stay focused and ignore RTA, He dont know who you are and but he will judge it by your body
language, so show him that you are cool, relaxed and dont really care about anybody, just focus on driving, how you did with your driving instructor
Just imagine that you have to drive same way even after passing the test, so feel same thing during the test
We all know the rules of road and we all want to drive safe, bcz we dont want to damage anyone or ourselves so we drive safe.
Before test like mentioned above, dress well, perfume (lolz) and show that you are a decent guy
Dont think too much while you are waiting for test, keep doing something, chat with someone, use mobile and stay busy but attentive so if they call your
name u must listen..
Its very simple, if you remain con5dent and believe that u can do it, u will do it

Its a wonderful blog and really helps me a lot for preparation; i would like to share my experience,
* I hold a valid saudi license. so i directly registered for signal test and road test. Yard test wasnt required as i am holding GCC license.
* passed the signal test easily as i practice a lot on RTA app mock test and most questions were same. Though i found Hazard perception 5 questions pretty
scary as hazard de5nition by driving in saudi is quite high for me :).
* RTA give me a test date for 5rst attempt. On the day i go with very high moral as i am driving in GCC from last 5 years and drive a good time in Dubai also
during visits. So fear of failing was not on my mind. Routinely examiner call my name along with two other guys. Examiner mentioned my turn as 3rd. So the
5rst guy take charge of the driving seat. He started the pre drives checks like insane and 5nally when he 5nished examiner ask him to start and he look
behind and realise he didnt change the gear to R. so at last he reverse. same thing happens again when he want to move forward he forget to put the gear
in D. examiner told me relax and concentrate so he 5nally drive take couple of right and left turns by looking in mirror like retard and make examiner
furious. examiner literally take charge of his steering and park the car and ask the 2nd one to drive. He was also nervous so he get o the road without
indicating and hit the road. he also make couple of u turns and right / left turns by touching the yellow lines. he asked him to park. so my turn. I was
con5dent that i will manage easily. so i start driving neat and cleanly and do u turns , left / right, change lanes and 5nally came back. examiners leaves the car
and we wait for our turns. The other guys were saying we are de5nitely failed but you will pass so i was proudly waiting and than another guys call our
names and handed over the papers and to my surprise i failed along with them. The mistakes mentioned for me was like dont look in mirrors, drive slow (i
was like under 5kph prescribed speed), approach slowly (i was cautious on round abouts / u turns). change lane unsteady. so overall 16 mistakes and no
major mistake. i was devastated as i always considered myself a good driver and couldnt believe how can i fail. i take 8 classes and ask the instructor what
wrong with my driving as i dont think i do these mistakes. he smiled and told me you are driving from long time and dont go by the book and he pointed
outto me that when you break you dont look in rear mirror and thats right. He told me if road limit is 40 drive at 45. when you approach round about or u
turn just do like like you do normally in safe mode. so i get this memorised and take another date and this time i literally read the RTA book for rules and
realise i wasnt doing by the book.
* The second test. my number was 2 so this time i didnt look at how the 5rst driver is doing and instead i look at the road we are driving and start thinking
on conditions. my turn and i hit the road and here comes the 5rst instruction from examiner to make a u turn and on side of the road there was a small sign
no u turns and i just told him back its not allowed here. he look at me and said ok than go straight. here comes the T Junction and he told me to take a left
turn. a truck was coming from left side so i wait and than somehow the truck driver ash me to pass i make eye contact with him look at my right side and
wave hand as thanks and make a left turn. The examiner didnt say a word so i was going than we approach a main highway and he told me right and before
merging i realise lots of truck coming so i stop at start of slip road by putting hazard lights on and literally wat for 3-5 mins as trucks keep on coming and
pressure buildup behind me some cars even honk insanely so i take my hands out and wave like please hold on by turn my head also. so 5nally road clear
and drove o and than examiner ask me to park and there was again too many trucks and it was taking time and examiner take charge of my steering and
park on left yellow line and ask the 3rd come quickly so again same with the other driver he drove good but too much cautious. 5nally we reach back and
this examiner start saying the 5rst guy you fail because you do x,y,z mistakes and than 3rd guy you fail for being too cautious and 5nally look me and told
you pass well done. so moral of story memorise the RTA book and do as it says. you will have good chance to pass.

licence here in Dubai. I gave my test for the 5rst time today and just received my licence. I think I should add by saying that it would certainly be bene5cial if
one can get a few extra class just before your parking/ assessment and the 5nal date and keep shuing the instructors so that you be assessed by multiple

Youre not the only one, but you just need to relax and think about all the people you know that actually can drive. If they can do it, then so can you. But
if your instructor is still having to take control of the car at the moment that would suggest youre not yet ready to take your test.

I got my license this month in my second attempt and Id like to share my whole story here, hoping that It may help somebody. This is my story of how I
passed second test with 3 minor mistakes from 4 major and 18 minor faults in 5rst test
I am from kerala, working as an engineer in Dubai for last 1 year. I was average in driving and holds an 3 year old Indian license. I enrolled at Galdhari in Al
Quoz branch and got my theory test in one week.I cleared it in 1 st chance itself.
I have talked with more than 10 friends enrolled in other driving schools and came to know that Galdhari Alquoz branch is best for road test as there are
less complications in road. the test is always in one route and there is no round abouts U turns and less number of signals. also test is always conducted at
40 km and 60 km roads. we will no get confused about the speed limits.Of course there are complicated roads nearby..but most of the examiners will not
take risks and wants to 5nish the test in a short time,so the go for easy roads.
After theory exam came the parking.I cleared all except angle and garage in the 1 st test. In the next one I cleared the rest of them.
My tips for parking are:
have a good idea about the points and poles
take your time to make the initial adjustments and start only after the car is made in the correct initial position to the line, the examiner may ask you do in
a rushy way.
adjust seat and mirror correctly and make it at same position all the time you practice. small changes in seat positions may change points and pole viewing
positions and you may turn the steering at wrong time and end up hitting.
wish examiner and try to make him friendly. 2..3 of the examiners I have seen at the parking are young guys and friendly and talk to us a lot. make
advantage of this and try to gain his attention.(I think junior guys are in charge o f parking exam)
visualize the points in mind when u r free, this will make you thorough with the points which is needed to make sudden response at your exam. Practice it
in your mind as much as possible and you can feel the change. It will make you a good decision maker which is crucial.
Usually examines do not care the angle hill and sudden break tests and give more attention for parallel and garage.
My trainer was a Pakistani who was very arrogant. He was very lazy and do not take me to bigger roads and made me to drive most of the time in 40km
roads where there is no line changes.
I tried my maximum to keep patience. My line changing was so bad and this guy made me tensed shouting without correcting me and always use to tell me
that I need tens of classes more and need 5 to 6 exams to pass. He always made fun of kerala guys and use to tell they are less intelligent.
Sorry to mention about this guy, but I really got hurt by these comments. He does not tried to correct me and I went on learning wrong things. Every time I
make mistake he laugh out loud and when I ask for correction he does not give me good answers.So the training end up with me learning almost nothing
but some mistakes. This is the 5rst time I had a real experience wit a Pakistani and I started getting angry every time I see Pakis
I went for the assessment test and I failed in it. The problems was with the line changing. I itself knew that it was vey bad, but there was no body to correct
me. I got 8 extra classes and again I went to the same guy.( I thought of changing this guy, but was afraid about how the new instructor might be. Also we
have practiced together and I thought that the new guy cannot understand me well.)
In the next assessment I passed partially due to grace from the examiner.
Finally i got date for the road test.

In Ghaldhari due to large number of enrollment, its somewhat dicult to get date. Normally it will take 10..15 days.
But it is OK if its not urgent for you. Its cheaper compared to emirates driving where we will get date in 1 week.
But the service is good and there are no hidden charges and you can 5nd good oers also.
Most of the stas are good and friendly.
It was at morning 8 30 and the examiner came and asked us who ill drive 5rst. I agreed and started to drive.
He was a nice guy and we went to 60 road and he asked for line changing continuously. The 5rst one itself went wrong due to improper head check. and
then there was a series of errors, at last he asked me to park the car on road side and asked other 2 guys to drive. I failed with 4 immediate major errors and
18 minor error in 5 minutes.
I was so disappointed. Of course it was due to my fault..any how I decided to change trainer.
The new guy was excellent.. friendly funny and more over he corrected me. he took me to complicated roads asked to change line in heavy trac..that I
itsel felt the changeI began enjoyng the driving..he has answer for every thing in a logical way .. and his brain is full of trics and tips..
What I liked is his dedication to his job. I explained to him my experience with the previous guy and he always tell me his policy is to do the job well and Allah
will give.
We practice for 1 full hour, the previous guys trains only 45 t 50 minutes.I started loving Pakis..;-)
after 5nishing 8 classes I went for my second test.
I booked for 7 30 as requested by my instructor. Instructor was an young man. One of the guy started driving and he made big errors and he was asked to
stop immediately.
Then came second guy and he drove well and he was asked to park.
Then came second guy and he drove well and he was asked to park.
Then came my chance and I went and wished him. he wished back. I told him I am little nervous but will try to do my maximum so that I can 5nish it before
ramadan(I was having more con5dence this time). He said insha allh and asked me to drive.The driving was good . He asked for3..4 line changes and made
me drive for 10 minutes in less risky roads and asked to park in the driving school.
He laughed and told that I am nervous so He cannot give me license. But when the result came I was passe with 3 minor mistakes only.
My tips are
Book the test in the early morning-the road will be almost empty and the examiner will be in fresh mood and some times reluctant..so might not ask for
taking risky actions.
Practice the 5 points while line changing. Practice it in busy rushy roads..
-Book the classes close to the exam date
-Never hesitate to take extra classes on the eve of test if u think u needed
be smart smiling and wish him in arabic. Drive with full con5dence.. challenge yourself..give your maximum concentration this 10 minutes..think that the
instructor is also a human being.
never bother to other people s stories of failures.believe in yourself.
in 60 road never come to 58 but its no a big roblem if driving at 62..65 etc.
study the route during training..study important things like signals..stop signs..parking lots..
never show tensed face b cool ..tensed face means the examiner will do more experiments on us
-Try to drive 2 nd out of 3 during testits having more probability of passing.
If you are very weak in driving and wish to take more classes to get practice and living in other emirates enroll insome driving school there, its cheaper. eg:
in Ajman a 30 minute class cost only 20 to 25 AED , with no additional charges.
-Do some breathing exercise before the examthis will reduce tour tension.
-If you are feeling that you have lack of focus on road, try some memory games. Am not joking..play it on 2 to 3 days before the test. It can increase your
focus and decrease decision making time
Anyway by gods grace I passed the test and I thought of giving my instructor a nice gift. I went to the driving school and gave it to him.
At that time my previous instructor saw it and asked what happened. I told him I passed in 2 nd chance and gave him another gift I was supposed to give to
bus driver in school who used to pick me.
This guy was so stupid that he brought his new student (a russian girl ;-)) to me a and told her that I was very bad in driving and passed because of him.

Good day! From day 1 since I opened 5le in Abu Dhabi EDC, aside from focusing on my practical training with my Instructor I also used to read blogs and I
found it very helpful source to have an idea how to pass the 5nal road test.
Thanks to the instructors inside the EDC compound, they are all great and youll learn everything. I dont have license in my home country and no idea at all
how to drive. Yet every steps were properly trained inside the driving school. And most of all thank you to my instructor Mr. Umer who were very supportive
with me.
Proud to say that I passed it on 5rst attempt. Mixed emotions I felt and I dont know whom I will 5rst to call =)
Piece of advice, dont believe that examiners are rude and it is totally wrong that the result will depend on their moods and big NO that it is all about money.
They are all professional and can judge you properly with your driving skills.
For those who will take their 5nal road test, good luck and believe that you can do it! Keep on praying to God and be con5dent. =)

I am going to share my story with you all it might take some time but hopefully it helps anyone who needs it.
I am writing this on the day I have passed my 5nal road test (allhamdullilah), it was not easy but trust me be strong and persuasive and inshallah you will get
through.
I opened my 5le in Dubai driving center with my personal experience I would advise to go for belhasa. Anyways it took me more then 6 months and
I opened my 5le in Dubai driving center with my personal experience I would advise to go for belhasa. Anyways it took me more then 6 months and
numerous classes I enrolled for 20 but ended up with 46 , passed my theory in 5rst try keep practicing on the apps and read the book .
Second up my yard test I failed in 2 parking a 5rst time as the duration between my parking classes and test was too long so Ill advise to take up class before
your test I forgot everything the instructor told me its hard to remember the Angels when you have to turn and trust me its important you do it at the right
time otherwise the car will touch the curb and you will fail immediately as happened with me. On my second try I passed the remaining ones that I had failed
earlier garage and parallel, but I was very lucky as my examiner was a nice guy even though when taking out the car I touched the curb I thought I failed but
he passed me. So yes it depends on who is talking your test as some are more lineant then others.
Assessment aswel I would like to share this examiner pakistani guy failed me the 5rst time as he was very rude and even though I was driving carefully WA
constantly poking me . Second time before I started my assessment test one instructor from the school came up and said if you want to pass pay up
seriously guys this was his words, I also wanted to pass did not want the trouble of going through all the classes again I paid up and surprisingly the same
examiner who failed me earlier passed me without too much trouble. So lesson is they all do this its not all clean and fair . But be careful when you do such a
thing it might result in complete failure and your 5le being banned .
Final road test I failed 2 times and I would like to share the 5rst time I drive really well because when you drive well and follow rules you know it yourself but
the rta inspector failed me I was shocked even more shocked when one guy who was an employee of the school passed he made too many mistakes yet he
passed the examiner called him said a few words and passed him . Seriously like even I could count his mistakes. So another point its not fair sometimes but
dont give up .
In my second test I have in ramazan people say its good to give your test in ramazan as more people pass in that time but its not true if you make mistakes
you will fail simple as that . In my second test as it was ramazan and it was early morning I did not sleep well and was tired I did not concentrate on my
driving and failed I knew when I was driving I wont make it and made more mistakes. So guys even if you think you have made a mistake dont let that thing
put you o . Keep your concentration and complete the test.
Today on my third try I went with a lot of con5dence and didnt think that I have to pass as I did early tests. Lucky me that the examiner wa very nice and
gave all 3 of us a lot of con5dence before the test . So that helps a lot Im not saying mood of examiner will be critical for you as if you drive well follow the
rules you will pass if not and your risking road safety they will fail you. So I was 5rst this time its also a myth going 2 or 3 is helpful as it allows you to see
others and not make the same mistake but honestly you should just concentrate on your driving skills not others as the situations you might face may be
completely dierent. So I drove 5rst followed all the rules and after like 5 or 6 minutes handed over to next guy . So when all 3 had driven we want back to
the school and the examiner said to me only 2 minor mistakes my face lite up and said dont stop at give way sign if no car move . I waited outside he gave
me the pass card and on my third try I passed its an unbelievable feeling really.
So my tips from my experience
1) choose your school carefully and hope that the 5nal test is in the same area you have taken your classes . It helps a lot as you know the roads .
2) on 5nal test day dress nicely I know people say its nothing but it does make an impression that you are professional in my 5rst two tests I went in tracks
and tshirt this time I wore formals and dressed nicely so I think it does make a dierence.
3) if you are at the test center early occupy your mind with somethings else not what others are doing pray for yourself as it gives you strength and make
sure your not sleepy have water erc.
4) when the examiner calls you greet him preferably if you know a few Arabic words Better like Salam Walakum , ki fuq hal, kulu tamaam, Zain etc. up to you
but keep a smile on your face and dont be tensed.
5) when your about to start make sure you adjust the seat and mirrors fasten your seatbelt and give indicator do your check shoulder. And move out then
6) listen to the instructions carefully he tells you the examiner will tell you a lot earlier when to change lane u turn etc so very important you do it before
hand and not wait till the last minute as it results in making mistake and you will fail. Dont ask him again to repeat what he told you it usually makes them
angry.
7) lane change follow the 4 rules , also whenever you break make sure you check rear view mirror.
8) follow the speed limit always not to slow not to fast . Dont be afraid to honk if there is danger because they notice this .
9) when test is 5nished greet him again.
10) most important do not let anything fear you , dont be nervous even if you fail its not the end of the world be con5dent in your ability and for 5 mins
concentrate and follow all the rules
I think I have spoken enough hopefully my experience and story might be useful to any one who is reading as all the blog above were helpful to me really I
read them night before my test and it did boost my con5dence.
So guys good luck inshallah I know its a big task the DL but its also worth it so dont give up if you fail and you will one day be writing a similar story.

Guys Finally Its My Time to Comment and Guess What , Yes After reading all your Comments in this Blog I went to the test on Thursday, I nailed It. Yes I have
got My License.
Let me Share My Experience..
There were 2 Other Candidates along with me, The Examiner was a Arabic Guy.
First he took us the Galadari Test Parking Lot , He asked the 5rst person to drive , He did all his pre check and drove well and My self could say he was not
keeping a safe distance with the vehicle in front of him, and rest was 5ne he was asked Park in an empty parking space but he was not able to park in one go.
Next came the Guy who was also an arab he drove all well , but he failed to check his shoulder, i was observing these guys well, and Unfortunately, an Idiot
came in from a T junction withiut seeing us and the examiner had to brake , and then he asked the guy to park.
Then was mu turn I did all the pre drive checks, shoulder check , took the vehicle as if i was driving my own car with complete con5dence, followed his
instructions left, right, left , right roundabout riight roundabout left and 5nally i went and parked back inside the galadari Parking zone.
I drove in the speed limit mentioned everywhere neither less nor more exact speed and always kept a good distance between the vehicle in front and he
only sees ur con5dence the way u drive and how safe you are and how actively you are lookig for hazards and expecting danger at all times. Follow the rules
and de5nitely you will nail the test..
