GENUINA ADORACION:
OBEDIENCIA RADICAL.
GEN 22;5

2. Este pasaje describe la

magna prueba que
Jehova hizo a la fe de
Abraham.
3. Este haba esperado
muchos aos para el
nacimiento del hijo de
promesa.
4. Ahora Dios le pidi el
sacrificio de Isaac, su
nico hijo, el nacido por
un verdadero milagro, el
que sera heredero de las
promesas del pacto.
5. Los cananeos, vecinos
paganos, practicaban el
sacrificio de hijos como
prueba de su lealtad a
sus dioses. Sera tan leal
Abraham a su Dios como
los vecinos a los suyos?
6. El relato aclara que
Dios no deseaba el
sacrificio de Isaac sobre
el altar, sino la sumisin
completa de Abraham y
su disposicin de ofrecer
a su hijo a Dios.
7. Sin embargo, Abraham
obedeci, sin entender el
propsito ltimo de su
Dios.
8. Sren Kierkegaard
describe este evento en
su libro La Pureza del
Corazn Es el Desear Una
Sola Cosa.
9. Su tesis es que en esta
prueba Abraham lleg a
definir su deseo ms
caro, el deseo de una
sola cosa, el obedecer a
su Dios.
10. Kierkegaard entiende
que el deseo de obedecer
a Dios por encima de
todo lo dems es la
evidencia de un corazn
puro, no dividido.
11. La primera mencin
bblica (en la RVA y la
RVR-1960) del trmino
adoracin (hebreo,
shachah) se encuentra en
este pasaje.
12. Significa inclinarse, o
arrodillarse en una
postura de sumisin sin
reserva.
13. Hay cuatro trminos
hebreos que se traducen
adorar en el Antiguo
Testamento, pero ste es
el que se usa con mayor
frecuencia. Aparece en
noventa y siete
versculos.
14. Intro: Ill. principle of The
Law Of First
Mention. (Ill. Satan, Gen.
3; Egypt, Gen 12.) First
mention of the word
worship, v. 5, in the
Bible. This passage sets the
standard for what genuine
worship is all about.
15. The word worship
means, reverence or
devotion for a deity. It
comes from Anglo-Saxon
word weorthscipe,
meaning worth ship.
Means ascribing worth to
a person or object. When
we worship God, we are
saying God is worthy of all
my love, my attention and
my devotion. He is worthy
to receive all that I can
give Him.
16. The word translated
worship in verse 5 comes
from a Hebrew word that
means to bow down, to
prostrate oneself. In the
New Testament, worship
comes from a word that
means to kiss the hand in
a token of reverence. It
was used to refer to a dog
licking his masters hand.
It is an image of absolute
love and complete trust and
devotion.
17. Ill. People have some
strange ideas about
worship. Something that can
only be done in
church. Going to a church
and sitting quietly while
religious exercises are
conducted. A time of singing,
preaching, testifying and
shouting. Ill. We really
worshiped Sunday! Why,
our preacher didnt even
get to preach! Did genuine
worship take place? Ill. Our
service Sunday was so
sublime. The ministers
words were so touching,
everyone left the service
uplifted and
encouraged. Was that
genuine worship?
18. In these verses, we
are allowed to see genuine
worship fleshed out. In this
terrible time of testing,
Abraham shows us what
worship truly is. I want to
examine these verses and
preach about
the Qualities Of Genuine
Worship.

worship is what we are!
Every obedient moment of

64. Abrahams life is marked
by worship. Ill. His altars and
his worship.
65. In fact, Abraham had just
finished a time of worship
at Beersheba, Gen. 21:33.
66. He was enjoying a time of
blessing and prosperity and
he worshiped God.
67. He worshiped the Lord
when times were good. In
this passage, things take a
turn for the worse.
68. God and His ways are not
making sense, but Abraham
still worships Him!
69. Easy to worship God
when things are good. Not so
easy when hard times come!
Genuine worship looks
beyond the crisis of the hour
and sees a God Who is
worthy of worship regardless
of how life is going.
70. Genuine worship sees a
God Who is in control of all
the situations of life and it
bends the knee to
Him. Ill. Rom. 8:28; Psa.
37:23; 2 Cor. 12:7-11.
71. Far too many people are
looking for an excuse not to
worship.
72. Genuine worship sees the
hand of God in all of life and
loves Him through the good
and the bad.
73. Abraham est
confiando, aunque no es
lo que quiere hacer.
74. No hay ninguna lnea
en el texto de como se

porque no sinti nada,
sino porque caminaba por

83. When they arrived at the
mountain, Abraham
separated himself from every
worldly care and went to
worship.
84. Abraham came ready to
worship and he let others
take care of worldly matter.
85. Genuine worship shuts
the world out and separates
itself unto the Lord.
86. Too often our worship is
contaminated and controlled
by the world.
87. Genuine worship should
be the first priority of our
lives.
88. We should do nothing else
until we have worshiped Him!
(Ill. Jesus Mark 1:35;
6:46; John 6:15) (Ill.Psa.
5:3) (Ill. I am too busy not to
pray!)
89. Ill. Worldly concerns
contaminate our public
worship too. Church is not
the place to catch up on
gossip; do your nails; figure
your checkbook; show off
your clothes; fix your hair;
talk to your neighbor; look for
fault; cause trouble, etc.
90. when we enter this place
we should come for the sole

SACRIFICIO-COSTOSA
OBEDIENCIA RADICAL
92. GENESIS 22;5B
93.y yo y el muchacho
iremos y adoraremos
94. This worship was going to
cost Abraham very dearly. He
was called to give up the Son
of Promise, Isaac.
95. Iremos hasta all y
adoraremos: este es el
primer uso de la palabra
adorar en referencia a
Dios en la biblia.
96. La palabra hebrea
shachah significa
sencillamente,
inclinarse. Aunque
Abraham e Isaac no
fueron al monte para
tener un tiempo de
adoracin gozosa, s
fueron a inclinarse ante
Jehov.
97. Notice how God makes
the demand, v. 2. Ill.
Abrahams response He
never waivers!
98. He gathers what he needs
and he goes to do what the
Lord has asked of him.
99. He is willing to sacrifice
everything he has and
everything he has been
promised at the command of
God. He holds nothing back!
100. Genuine worship is
costly because it requires us
to make sacrifices.
101.Things like time, plans,
pride (Ill. Sarah Would she
have understood?),
pleasures, secret sins, etc
will all have to be taken to
the mountain and placed on
the altar.
102.That is why so few
genuinely worship. It is not
cheap! (Ill. All some will give
is the cheap variety. They get
what they pay for!)
103. Genuine worship
requires that everything of
value be placed on the altar
and given to God, Ill. John
4:23-24; Rom. 12:1-2.
104.This is the way it sounds
to us in heaven, said the
angel, You hear nothing
because there is nothing to
hear. These people are
engaged in the form of
worship, but their thoughts
are on other things and their

others, things, people etc.
129. It is a relationship That
God desires.

138. VI. ADORACION

GENUINA ES
SEGURIDAD- FE-
CONFIANZA EN DIOS
139. PARA DIOS TODO
ES POSIBLE, LO
IMPOSIBLE ES QUE EL
ROMPA SUS
PROMESAS.
140. GENESIS 22;5
141.y volveremos a
vosotros.
142. And we will come
back to you: Abraham
was full of faith when he
spoke to the young men who
are with him. He believed
that we will come back.
143.Abraham did not know all
that was going to happen,
but he went up that mountain
expecting a miracle, and that
is just what he received.
(Ill. Heb. 11:17-19) He knew
that his worship would not be
in vain!
144.Genuine worship does not
understand all of life. It is not
pleased with every twist in
the road.
145.Genuine worship gives
itself unreservedly to God, in
spite of the things it cannot
comprehend, and it bows
before Him in the face of
everything.
146.Genuine worship knows
that its earthly expression is
merely practice for what will
be perfected in Heaven.
147.Genuine worship bows
before God because it
realizes Who God is, what
God has done and where the
road of faith will end up.
148.Genuine worship knows
that the real miracle is that it
is allowed to worship in the
first place!
149. i. This does not mean
that Abraham somehow
knew this was only a test and
God would not really require
this of him.
150. Instead, Abrahams faith
was in the knowledge that
should he kill Isaac, God
would raise him from the
dead, because God had
promised Isaac would carry
on the line of blessing and
the covenant.
151. ii. He knew in Isaac
your seed shall be
called (Genesis 21:12 ),
and Isaac had yet to have
any children. God had to let
him live at least long
enough to have children.
152.11:17 Por la fe
Abraham, cuando fue
probado, ofreci a Isaac;
y el que haba recibido
las promesas ofreca su
unignito,
11:18 habindosele
dicho: En Isaac te ser
llamada descendencia;
11:19 pensando que Dios
es poderoso para
levantar aun de entre los
muertos, de donde, en
sentido figurado, tambin
le volvi a recibir.
153. iv. He knew anything
was possible, but it
was impossible that God
would break His promise. He
knew God was not a liar.
154.Abraham was obedient to
Gods word and made
preparation for the sacrifice.
155.It seems as though Abraham
could hardly wait to see what
the Lord was going to do, for he
knew that Isaac was the son of
promise and without him there
would be no Covenant.
156.2. Abraham had absolute
unquestioning faith in God and
he told his two young servants
to wait for he and Isaac would
go yonder and worship, and
come again to you.
157.Abraham believed God
would preserve Isaac to fulfill
His word even if He had to
resurrect Isaac from the dead to
do it (Heb. 11:19). What
fantastic trust Abraham had!
There had never been such an
event as a resurrection, and so
Abraham had no previous
example to suggest this result or
to encourage his faith thereby.
158. He had no precedent
(no one in the Bible had yet
been raised from the dead),
but Abraham knew God was
able. God could do it
