Stand in front of you all. I want strory telling about Banyuwangi

I want to explain a bit about Banyuwangi

The orgain or who is the creator of this story is unknow, but suspected this story come

from banyuwangi, east java becouse it is associanted with the legend of the origin name the

city of Banyuwangi. The story is thaigh to originate from the early day 13 th century AD.

This opinion is based on archaelogical evidence, that other than in the the from of song, story

of sri tanjung was also ymmortalized in the from of bas relifs carved into the walls penataran,

gapura bajang queen, surawana and jabung banyuwangi.

One upon a time, there was local ruler named king sulahkrom thing primer minister

king has named raden sidopekso. Primer ministers wife has named sri tanjung she is so

beautiful and sweet one day, the king seat the prime minister went, the king tried to get sri

tanjung but the king failed.

He was very angry an up set. So, when Sidopekso back. The king told him that his

wife was unfaitful to him. Prime minister is very angry with his wife. Sri tanjung said that he

would kill her. She took him to the river bank.

Before he killed him and threw him into the river, he said that he will be proven

innoncent. Once Sidopekso kill him. He threw his body in to the river dirty. River soon

wonderful aroma and very fragrant sidopekso said Banyuwangi Banyuwangi it means

fragrant water and sacred thats the origin of the town of Banyuwangi.
