Immigration has come to be a major issue to the community, and even if its seen locally,
since we live in the border, our PSA focused on this issue, and showed what is linked to
immigration, for example, separation of families, and that basically theres no harm because of
having immigrants in our society and country. Being immigrant shouldnt be seen as being
illegal, because even though this people are not on their country, they should be given the
opportunity of staying, to have better jobs and life, as long as they are not doing harm to society,
for example, criminals.
On our community of El Paso, we can see this type of combination of cultures and people, which
when you think, it is not bad at all, you can be living in two types of environment, met people from Juarez
and El Paso. Our solution that we suggest in our PSA, was to support immigration and not deportation,
we didnt have a specific organization that solves this problem, but what we can do as society could be to
understand Immigrants situation and let them in into our society, be against deportation, at the end that
are only good people that is only trying to live the American Dream.
When creating our PSA, we didnt really encounter problems, we came up with the idea of
searching pictures related to our topic and the right song for this video, we chose this topic since almost
everyone from the team and our audience could relate, or just by the fact of living in the border and
understanding the topic. Our effective aspects of our PSA were that we decided to give it a serious, and at
the same time that our PSA could make our audience reflect about this situation, we give the images a
black and white effect, and the song was related to leaving to another place, separation of home. We used
statistics about immigration in our country, how it has been increasing and the facts that this involve. The
main purpose of our PSA was to make our audience reflect that deportation is bad and is linked to other
problems that are worse than immigration itself.
