Course Instructions:
1. Internet/Moodle: Students are encouraged to seek detailed knowledge from the
internet, and previous projects/research. However, it must be ensured that the study
material/sites are authentic. Lectures/information will be posted to Moodle, so visit it at
least once in two days to download latest/amended files.
2. Use of library: Students are encouraged to use the library to augment their
knowledge and grasp of subjects.
3. Quizzes: There will be a total of four quizzes. Quizzes will be short and will be taken
at any point of the lecture to test class comprehension and attentiveness. Quizzes
cannot be made up once missed. All quizzes will be CLO based.

4. Exams: All exams are closed book and may comprise MCQs, True/False and /or
descriptive questions. No make-up exams will be given under any circumstances. All
questions will be CLO based.

5. Student Participation and Attendance Policy: Students are expected to know when
their scheduled as well as arranged classes are to be held and should keep in touch
with class representative as well as each other for the same. They should be punctual
for classes and ensure regular attendance. Leave due to official commitments shall be
applied for in writing BEFORE the period in question, and shall be subject to approval
of the teacher. Attendance policy shall be as per HITEC University instructions.

6. Emergencies. In case of emergencies, mostly medical/accidents, students shall

submit an application within two days of arrival in the University. Students are
personally responsible to ensure that their attendance percentage meets the minimum
criteria as per University policy.

7. Use of Calculators. All students are expected to bring along their own approved
calculators to every class to facilitate understanding the subject matter and
performing calculations.

8. Use of Steel Rule. There is a requirement of all students to bring accurate

300mm (12 inch) rulers while studying Psychrometric charts, and also during
quizzes and exams.

9. Marks are likely to be deducted for non adherence to these instructions.

10. Students Meeting Times and Office Hours:

Monday to Thursday: Between 1205hrs to 1530hrs, please check for regular class
timings. Friday: Between 1440hrs to 1515hrs.
