Joe Navarro, former agent FBI, as special agent and supervisor in Intelligent Contra and
Behavior Analyst for 25 years, is one of the best behavior analyst that ever known, he is one
of the founder of elite team FBI Behavioral Analysis Program and also as Chief of SWAT
Team Commander and Bureau Pilot. In his book, he explained that non-verbal
communication is delivered by body movement, physical movement, face expression,
posture, body outfits, even intonation and voice volumes persons. Around 60-65% of
interpersonal communication consists of nonverbal communication.

Researcher said that the person who could read and understand nonverbal communication
effectively and arranged how people perception themselves will enjoy a succeed in their life
compared with they who dont have this ability (Goleman,1995, p. 13-92). In business world,
our ability to capture what people or our client, or even our partner are shown is very
important. Not everybody said the truth about what they said. As a businessman or
businesswoman one of key to success for transaction or dealing or negotiating is to
understand what they actually want to say or feel.

Here is a non-verbal communication that is often encountered: Someone who nods his head
in agreement or OK; someone often be "nervous" while speaking in public without realizing
it, they move his hands and feet or vibrate irregularly, like someone who is cold; someone
who bites his teeth, for showing that his anger; a person who shakes his head to show an
attitude of refusing or disapproving of something; someone shows happiness, sympathy and
respected to other person, when they shake hands; without realizing, they are smiling each
other; someone will frown forehead to show someone is serious thinking; look away to show
dislike or antipathy toward others; waving to someone else, which means that someone is
calling him to come here; and showing fingers to other people followed by red face color,
meaning he is angry.

There are some potential problems caused by non-verbal language. Problems in developing
messages. The source of potential problems in developing a message are in formulate a
message. If a person fails in developing a message, then the communication process will
begin with something wrong, which will eventually lead to a failure that will persist or
continue. Secondly, problems in delivering messages. Communication can also be disrupted
because message from sender to receiver. The problem with message delivery is most
obviously a physical factor, such as poor cable connections and unreadable reads. Although
the disturbances seem trivial, they can block or interrupt a message. The last is problem in
receiving messages. Problems that arise in the reception of a message include the competition
between vision with sound, uncomfortable seats, less bright lights, and other conditions that
can interfere with the recipient's concentration. In some cases, the disturbance that arises
relates to the health of the recipient. Improper hearing, blurred vision or even headaches, can
also interfere with the receiver in receiving a message. Although it does not block (path) as a
whole, they can reduce the concentration of the message recipient. The most common
disorder is concentration training during communication.

The conclusion is that non-verbal communication is required in business-related interactions

such as business presentations or meeting potential investors. However, if it is not done
properly, our opponents or audiences will interpret differently. Therefore it is necessary to
exercise self-control, especially in non-verbal communication.
