Elementary to lead literature circles
in a fourth grade classroom. This
literature circle was reading Walk
Two Moons but the classroom was
divided into multiple groups, each
reading a different book.
2014 .5 Practicum Student: I spent a
semester in Susan Boehnes fourth
grade classroom. I spend two days a
week in her classroom during
language arts and mathematics.
During this time I taught a math
lesson and a reading/writing lesson.
I also conducted and graded weekly
spelling assessments.
2015-2016 1 Substitute teacher: I have substitute
taught for many of the schools in
the Coeur dAlene district in grades
ranging from kindergarten to eighth
grade. During this time I have
taught for Advanced Placement as
well as in the resource room for
Language Arts.
2016 .5 Student teaching: I spent my student
teaching in a fifth grade classroom.
I taught reading switch for the bulk
of the time I was in at Dalton. I also
taught an after school Introduction
to Spanish course for 4th and 5th
graders at Dalton. This was 16
weeks long and was held for an
hour twice a week. I created my
own curriculum for this course and
focused on an activity based
learning model.
