COMM2384 ASSESSMENT 3 BRIEF

ASSESSMENT 3: Interview Article

TASK:
Compare and contrast the theory of building client
relationships with actual practice in the local context by
writing a feature article for an online magazine/ blog.

Conduct an interview with either a Client (SME business

owner, corporate communications manager, FMCG brand
manager, marketing manager, etc.) OR a Client Service
Provider (PR/ advertising agency accounts team, events

The article should contain information about your

other interesting local insights. Then, focus on one particular
Client Management issue, situation or lecture topic your
interviewee is currently experiencing/ or has experienced.
Highlight the differences between theory and practice, as
well where theory and practice align.

Refer to the interview topics suggested at the end of each lecture. You may also wish to explore an issue that has not
been discussed in class. Make sure that your topic for Assessment 3 is NOT the same topic you did in Assessment 1
and 2.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Appreciate the role, function and responsibility of the client manager in the development of a communications
campaign.
Identify management methodologies and practices implemented by both client and agency.
Develop skills in building long and successful relationships with clients

ethical and legal strategies in response to these changes.
