Task description:

Last month you had a holiday overseas where you stayed with some friends. They have just
sent you some photos of your holiday.

Write a letter to your friends. In your letter:

thank them for the photos and for the holiday
explain why you didn't write earlier
invite them to come and stay with you

Answer:

Dear Alice and John,

I hope this letter finds you well. I miss the days we spent together last month in your house
during my trip to your country. Ive just received the photos you sent to me. In them, I saw the
awesome and picturesque beauty of your backyard, the landmark buildings and everything.
Thank you.

Im really sorry for not writing to you sooner. When I arrived back in Shanghai, and before
I could even rest after the tiring flight, my boss called and asked me to cometo work in an
emergency. After that, I had to work overtime, hurrying to fulfill my regular duties the entire
month.

Next month, Shanghai will host a film festival, when dozens of international stars will come
here. I suppose you would like it very much. So why not come to Shanghai so that I can
return you a favour? You are welcome to stay in my flat, if you wish.

Please let me know in advance if you planning to come, so that I can start preparing for your
visit.

Looking forward to your reply.

Best wishes,
Mel

Hi Ian,

We're holding a meeting on the current problems with the

computer systems andI'd appreciate it if you could come. Having
somebody like yourself there from the legal department is important
because of the problems we've had with the loss of customer data.

The meeting will take place next Thursday at 2pm in meeting room
3 in the Corley Building in Leeds.

If there's anything you want to be added to meeting's agenda, send

me an email.

Let me know as soon as possible if you can attend.
