1.0 INTRODUCTION
 In these days, there are always new and innovative products being invented and their
capability of being automated makes them sit at the forefront of the development of human
living. The Self-Stirring Mug for instance, gives consumers the idea that one of lifes
everyday objects can further be simplified by eliminating other tools for its usage; in this
case: the teaspoon.

By taking this concept of a spoon-less mixing experience, a new idea arises. As is the
way of inventors everywhere, a weak point of a certain product is picked out and worked on.
To be able to automate a product without the use of batteries is one way of improving it. Most
batteries are not rechargeable, and thus are liable to be thrown away to be recycled after use.
According to an article on the Recycle Devon webpage, humans throw away about 600
million batteries each year and that it takes 50 times more energy to make the battery than the
energy the battery itself gives out. In this aspect, it is important as product designers to create
and design various items in a more sustainable design.

The design of this air and magnet automated mug is fairly simple and its shape is not
far from the already familiar mug design. It is designed to be comfortable as well as efficient
to the consumer. All parts are designed using SolidWorks; with certain parts, such as
bearings, coming from the library within the software. The main embodiment of the product
will be plastic so as to further reduce production costs.

2.0 BACKGROUND OF THE PRODUCT

As a business, our main focus is to introduce a more convenient and time
saving product, of a self-stirring mug. Our target audience includes the
average coffee drinker. We strive to bring an efficient, portable, consumer
friendly mug that eliminates the need to waste time in the morning
stirring your coffee when you could be spending that time elsewhere We
make it our goal to simplify your life and pacify your busy schedule by
saving you time. People will buy our product because it saves them time
from partaking in the strenuous and tenacious task of stirring ones own
coffee What sets us apart from other companies with similar products, is
that we combine versatility with the latest technology to bring about a
product that keeps all of the customers needs in mind. Vision and Mission
Statements The path at which we strive to achieve, is to bring simplicity
and reliability to the chaotic schedules of our customers on a daily basis
We envision doing so by eliminating the superfluous time needed to stir
ones cup of coffee and progress forward with the customers routine.

Spoons measure your sugar fine enough, but what a waste to have to
wash (or toss) another utensil! Tongue depressors end up making your
coffee taste like wood, and those stupid swizzles can't stir anything, are
you kidding? What you need is a stirring solution for your hot and tasty
beverage that doesn't add to landfill, or impart odd flavors to your drink
while actually moving stuff around.

If we sound like that late great TV pitchman, we're in great company.

We're genuinely enthusiastic about the Self-Stirring Mug! Stainless steel
finish with a snap-lock lid keeps your drink hot. Don't forget - inside this
mug is a spinning plastic disk that frappes your drink into a whirling
blended maelstrom of deliciousness. Too much?

Just pop two AAA batteries inside the base, fill the mug with your favorite
