Temperature regulator with two temperature sensors

Temperature regulators with two temperature sensors (types 990038746 ... 990038751) work on the
principle of thermal expansion. No extra energy is needed for operation. Changes in temperature produce
changes in fluid volume which is converted to stroke movement in the connected valve (Fig. 771/772,
DN 15 ...50), with rising temperatures leading to closure of the valve. The excess temperature protector
prevents unsafe loading on the controller when temperatures at the sensors are too high.

The temperature to be regulated (controlled variable) is measured by temperature sensor 1 (see Figure 1).
Temperature sensor 2 detects the outdoor temperature, which acts as a reference variable on the control
process and changes the controlled volume depending on the volume ratio of the two temperature sensors.
The scale on the set point adjuster unit is designed as a trend scale with a centre position marking. In this
position the sensor temperature allocations are shown in the setting diagram (see Figure 2).

Application
ARI temperature regulators with two temperature sensors are used for the outdoor temperature-dependent
regulation of flow- and heating register temperatures in industry, commercial buildings, market-warehouses
and shipbuilding. Typical applications are shown below:
