SUMMERFEST 2017
CASH RAFFLE The mailing
was put together and all registered
parishioners of St. Damien should receive a
packet containing a booklet of tickets for the
Cash Raffle sometime this week. Please re-
turn the filled in stubs and payment in an en-
velope marked Cash Raffle. Returns can
be made in the Sunday collection or dropped
off at the Parish Office. If you havent re-
ceived the mailing by the end of this week or
are in need of additional books of tickets,
please call the parish office.
CASH & SCRATCH RAFFLE - This raf-
fle was a huge hit last year, so we are having
it again. We need your help to make this
raffle possible. We are in need of scratch off
tickets in any denomination or a monetary
donation so that tickets can be purchased.
Donations can be made in the Sunday collec-
tion or dropped off at the parish office.

BASKET RAFFLE - Terry Lewis is in
charge of the Basket Raffle to be held at
SummerFest. If you would like to donate a
theme basket or a stand-alone item, please
call Terry at 258-4616 and let her know what
you are donating. You can also donate items
that will be put together to create a basket. If
you have empty baskets that you would like
to donate please advise.

Graduation Mass and Continental BreakfastJune 11, 20178:30am

All High School seniors should have received an invitation to join us on Sun-
day, June 11th for our graduation Mass to be celebrated at 8:30AM. A conti-
nental breakfast will be served to graduates and their families immediately fol-
lowing Mass. If you did not receive an invitation please contact the Parish Of-
fice as soon as possible. Please remember to RSVP as soon as possible.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2017

VBS 2017 is a victory celebration! In Mighty Fortress VBS, your
children learn that in Jesus, the victory is won! Theyll look into the
Bible, Gods holy Word, and explore five Bible accounts about God,
our Mighty Fortress, and the victory Jesus has won.
Registration is open for 4 years5th grade who will attend VBS
from June 12th to June 16th, 9:00am-12:00pm. Come along with us
as we sing fun songs, do crazy crafts, eat yummy snacks, platy awe-
some games, and more. Plus, youll learn in Jesus, the victory is won!
Cant wait to see you there! Registration forms are in the back of the Church, at the Rectory or
at Madonna Catholic Regional School.

Ascension ThursdayHoly Day of ObligationMAY 25th

The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, also known as Ascension Thursday, is one of the
great solemnities in the Christian liturgical calendar and commemorates the bodily Ascension
of Jesus into heaven. Ascension Day is traditionally celebrated on a Thursday, the fortieth day
of Easter. The feast is one of the liturgical feasts ranking with the Passion, Easter and Pente-

Our participants who have completed Discovering Christ should note that Following Christ,
the next series in ChristLife Course, will be offered in the Fall. The dates for the Following
Christ will be: September 12th, September 19th, September 26th, October 10th, October 14th
(day retreat) and October 17th. (Tuesday evening courses will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Marian
Hall, Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi, PA. The day retreat schedule will begin at 9:00
a.m. Please note there is no meal with Following Christ.)
We will also have an Alumni Night May 23rd in Marian Hall for participants who have com-
pleted Discovering Christ. The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. and include praise and worship,

Duquesne Universitys largest open house event, DuquesneFest, will be held this summer on
