”Specializes in : Computer Science and Systems, Cloud Computing, and Mobile Computing”

Brief
My research interest mainly focuses on parallel and distributed computing environments. Parallel and distributed environments is a large
universe and in that universe, I am interested in the subset containing cloud computing environments (task scheduling and VM place-
ment), HPC (for big-data processing), and mobile computing environments (computational offloading, and disconnection management
in mobile computing systems). Another area where my interest lies in the incentive management problem in self-organizing mobile and
wired ad-hoc networks, and computing environments. Recently, I am brainstorming on an idea which employs blockchain technologies
for tracking the incentive records of nodes in the self-organizing environments. Lastly, supervising a Master level student focusing on
Bio-Inspired Workflow Scheduling Strategies in Cloud Computing Environments. Besides all this, I have reviewed manuscripts for IEEE
Access, TIIS, SUSCOM, and AJSE. The list of publications and an under-review manuscript is compiled beneath.

Yet another computational offloading framework for mobile device augmentation Under Review
ABDULLAH YOUSAFZAI, ABDULLAH GANI, RAFIDAH MD NOOR XX-XX,XXX
• An Extension of the previous work.
• The proof of concept was improved to support generalized native applications
• We take advantage of the off-the-shelf checkpoint restart technologies and engineered them with AOSP for computational of-
floading.
• Results indicate the system can achieve a significant reduction in application execution time and energy consumption, with the
improved service availability when compared with existing offloading schemes.
