What I read in this book, I have learned last year. The Sit-ins, the marches, The I have a

dream speech and all of the boycotts. This my first time reading about john lewis and he is a

very important guy. I didnt know he was the guy to start the marches with Martin luther king jr.

He is the main reason black people got to sit at sit-ins and eat. John Lewis background is

intriguing. I didnt know he lived on a farm land with chickens. When he grew up he wanted to

be a preacher and started preaching to his chickens and cared for them but, he found out that

making a farm animal as a pet has consequences. He hated his dad for killing them and eating

the form dinner. He must of had a lot knowledge when he was a kid since he started reading the

bible as a five year old. Once they were able to let black people eat at sit-ins they aimed higher

for fast food restaurants. The more they used nonviolent actions came more violent reactions.

The more violent reactions came the more aggressive the protest became. They started

protesting the stand in movie theaters. Again they refused to serve them and let them in.
