To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Alex Gorobchuk, I am a sophomore at Antelope High School. Here in the United States of America,
I have the privilege to live freely in my home and go to school. Today there are people around my age that do
not have that. Knowing that a similar event has happened to the Jewish population in the 1940s, I find it
shocking that is it happening today in 2016 to the Syrian population.

Our society in the United States of America is being affected by the Syrian war. As the war progresses, Syrian
refugees are migrating to neighboring countries. Some have sought to cross the Atlantic Ocean and seek safety
in our country. According to the article The Syrian Sun, the Syrias Civil War is greatest humanitarian crisis
due to there being more than 11 million people being killed or forced to leave their homes. As stated by The
Syrian Sun refugees are fleeing to Jordan and Lebanon and are getting help from the Mercy Corps.

The Syrian refugee crisis that is currently happening today can be compared to the World War II refugee crisis.
People lost their homes, family, and their lives have changed completely. As mentioned before, 11 million
people in the Syrian crisis have either been killed or forced to leave their homes. During the WWII, 6 million
jewish people were forced to leave their homes and were killed. These events that are happening today have
occurred before in Germany and lives are being changed completely.

The current law decision is to either accept the refugees and help out or deny access for the refugees. A
Rasmussen poll showed some 60 percent of likely voters oppose the settling of Syrian refugees in the state
where they live. Even many elected Democrats have their doubts.(Merrill Matthews). I disagree as the
Syrians are asking for a hand to help them out but the congres find it safer to let them live on their own as if to
give a hand to help will lead us to a great war or great conflicts.

Our WWII veterans have stepped ing in the time of crisis, now it is our turn to step in for the Syrian crisis. I
would want the senator to step in to give the hand of help to give hope to the people who have lost it.Thank you
for reviewing my letter and thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Alex Gorobchuk
