To Whom It May Concern,

William Reed is an extremely motived and hardworking individual with a talent for
architecture. I was the mentor for Williams team at the ACE Mentor Program this year. The
programs mission is to inform students about the architecture, construction and engineering field
and ultimately inspire the students to pursue careers in the field. The students meet once a week
for the entire school year and hear from professionals give presentations on their jobs. The
students use the information they learn to create a final project which they present in a
competition at the end of the year. As the mentor for Williams ACE team I have seen him
contribute insightful ideas and provide professional quality work on the project. This is his first
year in the program and played a pivotal role in the success of his team. He works well in a group
setting and is a trustworthy teammate. He asks questions to mentors that demonstrate his
genuine desire to learn more about the industry and he also asks questions to his teammates to
make sure the choices they are making for their project are logical.

William works hard during the ACE sessions and is always engaged in the group
discussions. He has a great attendance record. William volunteered to create the 3-D model for
his team. This is just one example of Williams willingness to step up to the plate and take on
responsibility. His 3-D model was extremely detailed and professional quality. He took the time to
listen to his teammates and worked with them so they could visualize different options for which
direction they wanted to take on their project. The project won the award for best 3-D model for
the Houston area competition out of a total of 40 teams.

I believe William will be a great addition to the ACE industry one day and that he would
be a great candidate for an internship in an engineering or architecture field. He is involved in a
variety of different leadership programs at school and in the community and is also a member of
the robotics team. This year Willians robotics team made it to the world competition and did
extremely well. He clearly manages his time well to be able as contribute as much as he does
while also balancing a rigorous class workload. He goes above and beyond what is required of
him. William is truly a delight and I have really enjoyed getting to know him through the ACE
mentor program this year. I look forward to seeing where the future takes him!

Sincerely,
