Professor Abimbola is the recipient of the UNESCO Proclamation of If as a

Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. In November 2005,

UNESCO proclaimed the If divination system as one of the 86 traditions of the world
to be regarded as masterpieces. UNESCO then enjoined all nations and peoples of the
world to give their unflinching support to these traditions so that they would not
perish. A project entitled Safeguarding the Ifa Divination System was then initiated
with the support of UNESCO, the major component of which project is the
establishment of the Ifa Heritage Institute at Oyo, Nigeria. The Ifa Heritage Institute,
which is a two-year college, came into being in November, 2008. The curriculum is
based on If and Yoruba indigenous knowledge and taught in the Yoruba language.

Obra Maestra del Patrimonio Oral e Inmaterial de la Humanidad. En noviembre de
2005, la UNESCO proclam el sistema de adivinacin Ifa como una de las 86
tradiciones del mundo para ser considerados como obras maestras. UNESCO entonces
orden a todas las naciones y los pueblos del mundo a dar su apoyo incondicional a
estas tradiciones para que no se pierda. A continuacin, un proyecto titulado
"Salvaguarda del sistema de adivinacin Ifa" se inici con el apoyo de la UNESCO, el
componente principal de los cuales es el proyecto de creacin del Instituto de
Patrimonio Ifa en Oyo, Nigeria. El Instituto del Patrimonio Ifa, que es una universidad
