ABSTRACT

With the recent advancements in building construction, it is utmost important to acquire the
knowledge about the complete construction from start till end as a Civil Engineer so as to keep
pace with the recent developments and advancements that are involved in a building construction
project. There are many projects on building construction, such as construction of residential
building, public building, educational building, and industrial building. This report presents an
extended study of a project on building construction which includes office information, project
information, agencies involved, location, structure details, construction methods, procedures,
estimation, and work at site.

This project covers the construction of a College building which comprises of mainly 4 blocks.
.The various construction technologies such as, pumping (through RMC plant) , using fly ash (to
increase the compressibility of concrete), rubber soiling (to control the seepage problems in
foundation), consolidation, use of admixture , such as polyester fiber (in external plaster work)
etc. is been studied in detail. Beginning with surveying, excavation works till provision of
reinforcement, thorough study is been done at the particular site.

Apart from implementing of the various technologies, it is very much important to be able to or to
learn about solving the shortcomings as well as to rectify problems/issues on daily basis. A
construction site not only requires materials, machinery, plans, masons etc. but also a proper
management of these resources is of equal importance.

It has been an overhauling experience gets to work under this project. It has helped us to gather
information about various aspects of working of trade and has broadened over vision on the
applicability and the implementation of this system.
