Ezer KNeged

Whenever the terms male or female are used in a discussion regarding nature of
The Creator, the human inclination is to focus only on the physical aspects of these
terms. Beyond the obvious physical aspects of masculinity and femininity are their
spiritual, intellectual, and emotional qualities. Therefore it makes perfect sense for
Genesis 1:26 to open with ,
, the first person common plural Yiqtol form of the
verb ,
. This is by no means an allusion to a trinity or a male deity and his
female consort or any form of polytheism.

The clue to understanding why the verb was used is in Genesis 1:26 are the last
four words of Genesis 1:27 i.e., male and female He created them. G-d created
humanity ((
,
) , to which the masculine singular words
apply in the
verse, with two components male and female in His image. Among The Creators
many attributes is strength, power, nurturing, and compassion. The former two are
generally associated with masculinity and the latter two with femininity. Genesis
2:18 2:24 expounds on masculinity and femininity as a reflection of The Creators
nature, particularly the phrase in verse 18 and 20. Ezer K'negdo is variously
translated as Help Mate, Suitable Helper, etc. However a more appropriate
translation is "Opposing Balance. The Gematria of the Hebrew letters in the
expression Ezer K'negdo is as follows: Ayin = 70, Zayin = 7, Resh = 200, Kaph = 20,
Nun = 50, Gimel = 3, Daleth = 4, and Wau = 6. The total = 360a perfectly
balanced, complete and whole entity; male and female created in the image of
Elohim.

It is written in Genesis 24,

.
Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother and cleave to his wife; and
they shall be one flesh.

Ezer K'negdo in Genesis 2:20 is variously translated as Help Mate, Suitable Helper,
etc. However a more appropriate translation is "Opposing Balance. The Gematria
of the Hebrew letters in the expression Ezer K'negdo is as follows:
Ayin = 70
Zayin = 7
Resh = 200
Kaph = 20
Nun = 50
Gimel = 3
Daleth = 4
