undertaken to create a unique product or
service/ set of specific goals (PMBOK Guide,
PMI).

- Duration be short or long
- Unique

- Constrained by limited resources (4Ms:
Machines, Money, Man power, and
Material)
- Divided into activities/ tasks. They are
planned, executed and controlled (All
sequential)
Activities are repetitive while projects are
unique.

S: Specific
M: Measurable
A: Achievable
R: Reasonable
T: Time constrained

Designing a new transportation vehicle

Constructing a building or facility
Building or rehabilitation of a water system

Your company won a bid to build mini-offices
for a phone company. These offices will offer
customers the ability to sign up for a new
wireless phone bill payments, and purchase
equipment and accessories. Your manager
want the offices in place in 12 locations by the
end of the next year. The best news that has
assigned you to head up this task.
