MGRP: Original Poem

Directions: Ponder a single idea related to your topic. The purpose of your poem is to praise
your subject, so the specific topic as well as the tone should reflect your admiration. You may
want to consider creating a poem that expresses the gift behind your subjects talent.
(Examples: A poem about B. B. Kings guitar; a poem about Ronald Reagans ranch; a poem
about Judy Garlands voice.)

Your poem must be no less than 16 lines and no more than 20. In addition, your poem
must include a minimum of five poetic devices (alliteration, rhyme, couplet, rhythm,
enjambment, hyperbole, understatement, imagery, synesthesia, personification, simile,
metaphor, onomatopoeia, symbolism, or synecdoche).

Identification and explanation of each device must follow your poem.

The One & Only Biggie

Wonderful, fantastic, stupendous poem

Belongs in these 16 -20 lines

I know not many know about The B.I.G

So let me tell you a really good story
It goes left, right, up and down
But it all starts in a really big town Called Brooklyn.

Voletta Wallace taught him; he was learnin

His pops left him at 2, she was bawlin
He went to a pri-vate school like a geekin
In High school, in a gang; got jailed in

Headed in the wrong path he thought it out

People cared about him; got a Bail-out
Started rappin in the streets and found out
That he had records dealers that wanted to help out

Soon after that he got his first record

Got on the top of the corporate ladder
In his office eatin chicken caesar
Steady makin more hits and cheddar

So much money you just cant compare

Most of the things he did; he didnt care
Sadly his story ends very abruptly
BAM!! Shot by the crips so fast and so corruptly...
Sorry it had to end that way : (
